I always heard that you had to put your name in a newspaper to make it so that people who might know you can know any updates and to make it public record.

Yeah, that's one of the things they still do require. They give a sample newspaper ad in the packet you print out, but it can't be submitted with the rest of the forms. It can only be submitted once the court officially changes your name because it also requires the exact date and time the court agreed to the name change. But to be honest I never knew that's why they required the newspaper ad! That's cool info, but also somewhat impractical these days considering so few people do read newspapers...

Adulting is literally realizing you have a car and money so you drive that car to an ice cream store on a hot day to playfully annoy your friend that works there and buy ice cream from him even though you really should save your money for more practical things.

They do similar things with some environmental issues, like harvesting timber in a specific area or any other things. They need a public notice and a comment period, it’s fun to read through some of the ridiculous comments. NEPA and SEPA are good for making sure that anything that needs to be said, gets said, but on the other hand it can make something that should go through quickly take months to make progress.

I got the final stripe I needed tonight, and soon will test for my brown belt. The test will be taken at the end of this month or early next month. After that it's 2 more years of practicing and preparing for the black belt!
9 years of training so far, and many more to come! I've tried hard, failed and gotten back up over and over again, wanted to quit so many times but I haven't nor will I ever. The thought crosses my mind every once in a while but... I've spent exactly half my life dedicated to mixed martial arts so what's the point in stopping? I won't be known as a quitter. I'm going to be known as a warrior--a man who succeeded and surpassed his every fear to get there. smile Cheers to the next two years! May they be filled with hardships and successions, lessons, and much preparation!

Ah, man. The last time I worked on Mechtyra: Falling to Earth was late 2015 early 2016. It's been 2 years. And tonight I sat down. And tonight I wrote. It wasn't much. But I have a lead now. And I'm going to write this. And I'm going to continue it. After 2 years of a break.
Mechtyra: Falling to Earth is my first big novel. It's a sci-fi fantasy story inspired by Pacific Rim, Transformers, The Edge of Tomorrow, and many other big-name sci-fi/robot films. I began working on this story in 2013, and right now it's at 186 pages without being double spaced.
The novel is about Alex Sendale, a Human man banished from Earth seventy two years ago after being falsely accused by Samantha Langbert of staging mutiny against his fellow Humans when they failed escape and got attacked and eaten by a Rift--an alien creature which tears apart planetary systems for food. With mechanical limbs failing, Alex assumed he'd met a damning end only for someone to come to the rescue: a Mechtyrian--a sentient robot--named Raider, prince of his world Mechtyra. Little did either know this was just what the Rifts wanted. One day, Mechtyra appeared outside its orbit slowly dragging closer to dead planets in a swirling galaxy. The Milkyway Galaxy. And Rifts would come. And Humans wouldn't stop them. Revenge, mutiny, betrayal, and broken promises, which world will survive?

Since you're still a teenager, now is the best time to grow your guild before you get really busy later in life. I want to invite more people to this guild, but recruitment and maintenance is work, and when you have downtime, it's still easy to make excuses. I wish you luck in your guild adventures. And you will learn and become better for it. Best advice I can give you? Keep all lines of communication open with everyone, especially with the guild regulars. Don't go ghost. Own your responsibility and embrace change.

Honestly, my parents had the audacity to give me ******** attitude after I've had possibly the worst week in years, and then sit next to me on the couch.
-My friend walked out without a word over a year ago after coming back from the mental hospital for suicide and left me on total radio silence for that year without updates, pictures, texts, etc.
-I thought such friend was dead but they actually came back unexpectedly three days ago.
-The same day, my boyfriend got into a horrible accident and nearly died.
-My boyfriend is experiencing PTSD symptoms with the trauma from the accident and requires constant help right now.
-Such stress left me to be late for work for the very first time in life, and I almost had a total meltdown from stress in front of all my coworkers and spent the entire day resisting the urge to burst into tears.
I'm ******** at my wit's end. What the ******** is happening? I'm just going to go take a hell of a hot shower, then be alone in my room for a while. I can't handle all this. I'm not taking proper care of myself, but I also have to take proper care of my boyfriend, and I'd rather just forget this week ever happened and act like nothing ever occurred. I just want to wake up and realize this is all a dream. ******** hell, what is life coming to? I'm so damn done...

My dad offered to teach me how to shave for the first time tonight!!!!!!!!! I'M READY TO CRY I'M SO DAMN HAPPY!!!!!!!
Honestly, I might have to shave soon. My mustache is growing in so much and I look like a porcupine because I have long strands turning dark but just in the corners of my lips, nowhere else. razz So he suggested I trim it, and I might, but I'm trying not to until it all grows in dark so I can look more male.
BUT MY DAD OFFERED TO TEACH ME (HIS SON) HOW TO SHAVE TONIGHT AND IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY I LOVE YOU DAD THANK YOU!!!!!! heart heart heart
