Same here. Animals won't do things like stab you in the back.
He got sick on Christmas eve, she and her family took him to the vet sometime after Christmas, and the vet said it would either be a fungal infection or lung cancer and would need to take tests to find out.
Her dog was officially diagnosed with lung cancer hours after I spent the night at her house. While I was there, her dog was acting fine, and we all highly believed it was just the infection. But, while I was in the middle of taking a nap she called. She didn't speak at first, but then sobbed "Honeybear has cancer..." It was so hard to believe that he was actually dying.
She called twice today while I was sleeping, and I checked her messages after she woke up. In both messages, one of the dogs died. I called her after that, and from what I remember, I think she said they died around an hour apart. Her aunt's dog probably died of old age (was 13), since he was fine before he unexpectedly passed away.
Both dogs getting buried tomorrow, and I'm going to be seeing her soon to help her cope.

A reboot? Well, if that's the case, I hope they call it something better than "Spider-Man 4". Kinda sucks that Raimi won't be working on this one. On the other hand, I hope they find someone better than Kirsten to play MJ.
Edit: Wow, this just blew my mind... Okay, before James LaBrie--Dream Theater's vocalist--joined DT, he was in a Canadian metal band called Winter Rose... Now, I looked it up, and get this, the guitarist for Winter Rose, Richard Chycki, went on to become the studio engineer at Metalworks Studios, where me and my band are gonna be recording our album. In fact, my guitarist is good friends with Chycki. Small freakin' world we live in.

@ Angela: When I was but a wee lad, I had a pekingese poodle with big, purple eyes that looked just like the Luck Dragon from The Land Before Time. It slipped out of his collar while I was walking him, which lead to a big chase through the fields nearby my house. We lived very close to Highway 81, and long story short, I watched him get ran over and crushed by an Upstate Farms truck. I pulled him out of the highway, and he was still breathing. So I picked him up and rushed him back to my house, and then my father drove us to the vet's. They took him in and then brought him back out, and informed us that he was now paralyzed from the neck down, and while he could live, he would probably never be able to move again. So my father gave them the go-ahead to put him to sleep. They gave me the pep talk about how it was the humane thing to do. As we were leaving, I could hear him whimpering. I looked back over my shoulder, and he was looking at us and moving his head, and just trying so hard to follow us, but he couldn't. And I didn't wanna leave him there. I wanted to go back and pick him up off that table and take him back home with us, but I couldn't. It was the single most heart-breaking moment of my life. The End.
My grandparents had been together since 9th grade. That's pretty much unheard of, especially in this day and age. My grandfather brought home a chocolate lab pup one day, a long time ago, and my grandmother didn't want it. She hated dogs. Well, time went on, and the dog grew up, and she fell in love with it. It was a really smart dog, so that helped. My grandfather trained it, and taught it all the commands and everything in English, of course. And then my grandmother taught it commands in Latin (she was a Latin teacher). My grandparents would bicker a lot, but they both loved the dog, and they loved each other. My grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and died back in 2007 (that was my equivalent of 2009). Leaving just my grandmother and the dog, who was really old by this time, and died only a few months later, leaving my grandmother completely alone. She lost her whole family within just a few months. She was crushed. I really should go visit her soon... Anyway,
@ Chase: How about the fact that the gay vampire Jesus was ******** the marine commander that appeared at the beginning of the game, and now is ******** his daughter? All the bullshit with Otacon ******** his step mom while his dad drowned in the pool (how the ******** did he manage that?) That's some Jerry Springer s**t right there. Then that whole scene with Otacon and his sister and the stupid ******** parrot. Then you got "Jack & Rose" (Titanic reference!? WTF) and their friggin' domestic disputes full of puke-worthy melodrama. "I'm afraid of the night! That's why I can't sleep next you! *sob*" Are you ******** kidding me? More intriguing than the original? ******** no. Hell no. The original. That's where it's at. That's where it always will be. But no. Hey, if you're digging it, that's cool. But I sure didn't. I played Snatcher and MGS1 first, and loved those games and their storylines and characters to death. Kojima was like a god to me, and I was so pumped for MGS2... and then it turned out to be the biggest disappointment of my videogame career. There was so much potential there too, with all the s**t MGS1 set up. And it started out strong too, in a good direction. Right until the La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo s**t kicked in (as soon as the main plot device was uttered) and Ocelot's arm went all nuts. I'm sorry, it's just...the original's storyline was a trllion times better, with much better characters. And that's just the facts. xd
I mean, MGS2 has some moments here and there. You still got that Kojima humor. Like, equip a playboy mag, hide in a bathroom stall, call the colonel and watch the hilarity ensue. And the scene with the malfunctioning AI with the colonel and s**t is definitely the best part of the Plant chapter. But for the most part with the storyline, what I didn't find completely ridiculous or stupid just kinda bored me.
@ Bio: Really sorry to hear that, man. Guess you won't be testing that Mark of Kri for me now, huh? And I just downloaded the new firmware update too. My s**t seems to be in working order for now, but now I'm worried.

@Thee Stranger: I agree with you, actually. The first game is where it's at (Or the remake for me)...But that's just the thing. The sequel is such a departure from the original's brilliant storytelling and coherent plot, that it's hard not to get super intrigued as to what the hell is going on in the convolution of bizarre concepts that is Sons of Liberty plot. Like, really, just what the hell is going on?! (Lol, I didn't know about the porno mag/bathroom thing)
That being said, yes, I am enjoying it for it's ridiculousness. Like you for this series and Bio for Resident Evil, I cannot understand your pain when it comes to the sequel's dissapointment, since I was not a hardcore, anxious fan from the begininng like you guys were for your respective series. I guess that's my only excuse...
