Malik twiddled his thumbs a bit in his lap, "Uhm... does it make you upset to be bound to me like that? I know we don't get along that well... If anything, maybe I could change.. or something."

Jounouchi stared down at the floor for a few seconds, before turning his gaze up determidely at Malik, "No, it doesn't upset me. I've broken the Sennen Rod's mind control before, and I can do it again. I'm confident that I can break any binds that anyone, or anything, tries to throw at me. I don't let people control me." he clenched his right fist, adding affect to his little speech.

Malik seemed unconvinced. "If you could do that you wouldn't have spoken to me again after last night, right?" He uncrossed his legs and then recrossed them on the other side. " This might be deeper than the Sennen Rod. Maybe I could ask my darker self next time he shows up..."

"Oh yeah, great idea!" Jounouchi scoffed, "Hey, evil personality of mine? Could you stop haunting me for a second so I could ask you a question? Why is Jounouchi feeling like I control him still?" he asked, attempting to imitate a happy-go-lucky Malik's voice, then responded in a sinister voice, "Jounouchi? He's that guy that I nearly sent to suffer in the darkness for eternity and made him experience the pain of Ra's flames, right? Heh heh heh... those were good times..."

Malik laughed, feeling slightly eased with the joke. "Haha, Jounouchi-chan, that's cute! Although, I'm not sure I sound like that. You did pull off Yami no Malik very well! I'd rather have you haunting me." He giggled. The kitten bounced out from under the coach and in between Jounouchi's legs. "See, she agrees. You're funner than he is. "

Jounouchi blinked in surprise, not having expected Malik to respond like that to such a bitter joke. "Oh um..." he looked down at the cat, "I'd... I'd rather not have him haunting you either..." he laughed nervously.

Finding a more comfortable position on the couch by laying down, on his back, Malik summoned the kitten back to him with two snaps of his fingers. She jumped to his hand and rubbed against his fingers affectionately. The Egyptian smile a little.
"I'm glad we got to talk about it. You're still nervous though." He shifted his head towards the blond, " What's up?"

Jounouchi could feel his face flush as he looked off to the side, "I-I just..." he huffed, seeming upset that he was fessing up, "I know that... that what happened yesterday was just some weird supernatural thing, and that you're sorry and all but... gah, just so much has happened in such a short amount of time, and it's a lot to deal with, ya know?!" he turned to Malik, seeming a bit overly-dramatic, but he did feel every emotion that he seemed to be expressing, "Things still feel... awkward..." he chewed on his lip nervously.

Malik lifted himself out of the casual position he had been in and sat up on the couch. "Yea... I know." He said quietly in agreement. " I know how it must feel. I can't believe I lowered myself to such a disgusting level... I'm really ashamed." He shook his head. "I didn't think I was like that anymore, y'know. I'm scared."

Jounouchi looked up at Malik, seeming taken aback, "Malik, you...?" he looked down, clenching his fist slightly. It wasn't right for him to just casually ask about Malik's past, "I know that you're strong too..." he looked back up at his friend and smiled lightly, "Anything that's going on with you, you can resist it too. Both of us can."
