Just a story I'm working on. XD Haven't totally fleshed out every single detail, but... it takes place in a very Norse region and largely focuses on two characters and the results of their actions in the world. The first protagonist, Alyja, is... maybe it's better if I just quote it.

“Hi, Daddy! I’m home!”

Across the hall and a bit to the side of the fire sat a well-used throne. King Skar Headcrusher rose up at the girl’s flippant tone, scowling as he stared down the wayward princess.

“And where, by Odin’s bloody beard, have you been, young lady!?” he asked. The other conversations in the hall quieted as the girl struck a pose, one hand on her hip and the other fist pushed forward.

“Bear wrestling!”

She's that sort of person. XD Blessed by Tyr, stupidly strong, and drinks mead like a man. I'm not entirely sure she's noticed that she's a girl, actually.

The other protagonist hasn't been introduced yet, but Eirun's got more problems. She's an existence similar to Alyja, but she has certain elements of Hel's power instead... which manifests as an entire @#$&#xin;g army of ghostly soldiers that will rise from the underworld to protect her and fight her enemies. Whether she wants them to or not.

Still in it's early stages and all, but I'm having fun. ^^

Just gotta finish building the world setting, and then I can really get to work on the story itself. ^^

Unrelated, but I always enjoyed words of power as an ability. Think I had a character like that a while ago... Maybe it's time to dig through my brain again. XD

They can be pretty fun, yes. ^^ Just gotta be sure you know what all the limitations are.

If I look through my old Hard Drive, I might even find the word list I made. Many were gibberish, and many more were just made up on the spot and saved for future. XD
Some were also just in other languages.

...Structure is pretty important for word magic. ^^

Oh there was structure. I found it.
It was kinda like the magic in the .Hack series, the first word represented the element, the one or two that followed represented what the word would do.

'Ys' Was my word for the earth element, and a following two words 'Tol-Mei' granted temporary control over said element.
'Ys-Tol-Mei' was earth control, while 'Feair-Tol-Mei' was control over fire.
'Rak-On' was a word that created a burst of the element in question, though there were variables for different elements, Earth would just be a shockwave, while ice would be a blast of frigid wind and sharp Icicles.
I could go on. XD
