And then I talked to my mother about racism through the generations in Canada.

I have a busy weekend coming up. And then a busy week. My life sucks right now. But at least all the stress is making me lose weight!^^

I was wondering the other day... what if you are an actual grammarian and an actual Nazi? Does that make you a special kind of Grammar Nazi?

As a German I love making jokes at the expense of my own people. Kind of like a friend of mine who is Jewish and loves making his own anti-semetic jokes. We are strange people.

Yeah, I was just saying how there isn't really any racism in my generation (at least in Canada). We make jokes and then a parent or someone will get all uppity about it. The person who makes the joke is mostly like 'was I racist? Gee, I'm sorry about that. Didn't mean to offend you' and the person to whom the joke was directed most likely will respond similarly: 'Oh, no worries! I didn't even notice! I thought it was funny! Did you hear this one?...' and make a joke at his own (racial) expense.

I don't know any Ukrainian or dutch jokes. Um.. we got killed by a potato famine? So.. whaddya call a Ukrainian without a potato? A wannabe Jew! Ahaha...ha...

That is an interesting proposition. I'm... not really sure how to answer.

I somehow found the guy's failed attempt to reason to be incredibly hilarious...

Claiming to know something he clearly didn't master, or spell correctly for that matter?

But, focusing on the argument itself... it doesn't even make logical sense.
I don't see how it matters that English is the only language that capitalizes the sole 'i'.
Even if this was true, it doesn't change the fact that it IS demanded by the rules of English grammar.
If we were enforcing the gramatical rules of Spanish well...
you'd all be screwed, for the most part!

But that matter side, you're free to leave 'yo' uncapitalized.

The language we enforce is English.
Try to pay attention to the rules we've all agreed on.
This includes the laws of grammar.
