Been there, done that. o wo It's cold, salty, and pretty much exactly what you expect an ocean to be like. It's also got good continental shelves in places, so you can walk out quite a long ways and still have your feet touching the bottom and your head above the surface, which is nice.

The hell dude? New Zealand isn't a resort island, it's a goddamn country, and I meant two hours by boat. Australia to New Zealand is at least 5 hours by plane.

...You may not have noticed, but I was making a joke at NZ's expense. o wo I suppose most people don't think about Australia's islands, though...? We're too used to already thinking of it as an island, but I suppose it's like Hawaii that way...
