[Lyke LAWL]

Toyo looked up at the menu.
"Hmm.." She said. "I'll have a regular BLT with a medium coke." She said, then after Matt paid, followed him to a table.
Once she sat down she let her head rest on the table, hiding her face.

Kazou stirred his curry into his rice, looking away from Mori, who had already seemed to notice them. He discreetly watched Mori throw his trash away and then started to walk over.
Kazou glanced at kyoko and looked up.
"Hey Zuu," Mori said.
"Oh, hey Mori, back so soon?" Kazou asked.
"Not really, i was gone for a week. Did ya' miss me?" He said, batting his eyes mockingly. He paid no attention to Kyoko, but just now he glanced at her.

Kyoko kept her head down as Mori spoke. She took a few bites of her food, pretending like he wasn't even there.
I'm just not ready to speak to him, Kyoko decided, finally looking up.
Weakly, she smiled, trying not to look like a douche bag.
Kyoko looked at Zuu, hoping he would come up with something to get them out of their. She could handle being around him, it was too awkward.


"Toyo, babe," Matt put his hand on her shoulder.
"Is something wrong?" He asked, leaning towards her, she being soft-spoken.
Matt poured some ketchup on his fries eating a few of them.

What was wrong? She'd been fine a minute ago.

Kazou looked at Kyoko, then back at Mori.
"hardly knew you were gone." He said, laughing. He shot Mori a look. The 'just-go-away' look. Mori bit his bottom lip.
"Well, er, i gotta go. I'll see you back at the dorm." He said, then turned and walked away. He had been so close to her, Kyoko. Whatever, she'll talk to me when she's ready.. He thought.
Kazou took a bite of curry.
"You okay?" He asked between bites.

Toyo peeked up, smiling. Then she stuck out her tongue at him, and sat up. Their order was ready, so she got up and got it, bringing it back to the table.
"I'm perfect." she said, smiling.

When Mori was out of sight, Kyoko covered her face with her hands. Tears brimmed her eyes, and Kyoko looked up at Zuu.
"Can we go?" Kyoko asked, wiping away the tears that had managed to escape.
"I need to be somewhere, not here, not public."


Matt gave Toyo a funny look, then nodded.
"Okay, then."
Matt laughed a big, as she came back with their sandwiches.

Of course he would still see her other places than the school…
It was ironic he would see her the very first day he left his house for the first time.
He had suspected June at first…but he never told her which store he was going.
Mayumi had seen him too and walked up to him.
Neither said anything at first…
They just stared, unbelieving. He was so tempted to grab and hold her to him.
He noticed she was wearing an old red sweater he had let her borrow.

Could he have triggered it? Could they be connected still, in some subconscious way they weren’t aware of? He shook the thought away and wrote it off as mere coincidence.
His nerves twitched and his muscles ached every inclination fought him.
Don’t touch her. His voice warned inside his head.

He tried his best to look indifferent towards her but with his pale skin, dark circles under his eyes and weight loss he looked rather fragile and broken.
His jaw set and his eyebrows pulled together tightly.
He broke eye contact first, looking to the cheese he stood by,
“Yamada.” He greeted cold and formal. It felt wrong in his mouth

Mayumi nodded to his greeting.
The metaphorical knife in Mayumi's side twisted again as he said her surname so coldly. The bitterness in which he spoke just didn't feel right. At least being directed at her, it didn't. She didn't think he'd have much to say to her. Especially since last night on the phone, when he hadn't said a word.

The urge to wrap her arms around him, to hold him, kiss him... it grew stronger. How could he bear it? Because she sure knew she would be able to for much longer.
"Do you still love me?" Mayumi heard herself finally say.
It was like someone else had made her ask it. The question would throw him off, at least.
Would he say 'no' ?
How would he say it?
Mayumi did all she could to restrain herself.

Every second felt like an hour standing near her again.
God, this is torture…Maybe I should just...go somewhere…far. Travis thought as he stared. He couldn’t help it. She was so beautiful.
You would hardly believe she was in such a bad accident not too long ago.
She looked completely fine.

It was awkward and painful. But he couldn’t move.
"Do you still love me?" She asked suddenly, and he had to smirk at this.
Mayumi was always blunt and to the point. Always.
Yes.
He ran his free hand through his hair not noticing it too, had grown out,
And said, “That’s…too simple a question for such a complicated answer…”

Mayumi couldn't stand this anymore. She dropped her little plastic grocery basket.
"What kind of bull s**t excuse is that, Travis?" Mayumi asked, she tried to divert all this energy into some form, it wasn't really helping.
Sub-consciously, Mayumi placed her hands on his shoulders as she spoke now, slightly closing the gap between them.
"I love you, Travis. And I don't think it's possible for me to continue living with out you. I know it isn't," She said, and glanced at her hands.
Wha- what am I doing..? Mayumi thought, her urge becoming uncontrollable.

"How can you not feel the same way I do?" Her hands, sinking down, now rested on his chest. Her eyes were unwavering from his.

Travis struggled to control himself. He held his breath when Mayumi’s hands slid to his chest. You can’t…
You can’t live with me.
A jagged breath in.
“You can, Mayumi.” He said, his voice a coarse sort of murmur, as he took her hands and pulled them down. He didn’t let go or look away.
“…You have to.”
He wanted to love her. He wanted to love her and it be okay…. safe.

He squeezed her hands and dropped his head to hers- his forehead resting on the top of her head. “You have to.” He whispered, again.

Mayumi's hands loosed from Travis' and her arms wrapped tightly around his middle. Her face now buried against his chest.
"No," Mayumi whispered.
I've already tried killing myself, but I don't get too far. And I can't bring myself to shooting myself.

"I can't, Travis, I just can't stand it," Mayumi spoke, he voice feeble.
Her throat began to ache, tears began to sting at her eyes. She did her best to blink them away.
Should she tell him, she tried to kill herself? What would he do?

As if muscle memory alone made him do this, Travis wrapped his arms tightly around Mayumi ‘s shoulders.
“I…can’t love you,” He said, his voice low.
“It’s…just no good for you.” He squeezed her shoulders lightly in silent agony.
If there could be one time I could be selfish…it would be this.
Piece by piece he was being taken apart.
This one last moment of intimacy he greedily stole spread pain throughout like an illness.

"No good for me? No, you're perfect for me. I don't love anyone else more than you." Mayumi looked up at him.
An older woman had been staring at them for a minute, now. It was a little creepy.
"Travis, I love you. Please, don't put me through being alone any longer," Mayumi softly pleaded.

If he didn't take her back now, Mayumi wasn't sure how long she'd really be able to handle it.
What would Travis do when he found out (if) she killed herself?

He slowly let go of her and took a step back, careful not to look at her face.
As it was he could barely leave her alone, if he looked at her he was sure he would cave.
“May…Just listen to me for once.” He said picking his groceries up again.
I need her. I need her to be safe.
This little encounter would probably land him another week in his room…or two.
Dying…physically- wasn’t really an option.
"It's better this way." He said, his jaw tight, his eyebrows pulling close.

Hot tears stung at Mayumi's eyes. Mayumi's hands tightened into fists, her nails digging into her palms.
Why is he being so stupid? She thought, angrily.

Mayumi stepped toward Travis, and reached up, holding his face in her hands her eyes pleading him.
"Please, don't do this to me Travis. Anything that might happen to me while we're together wouldn't be as bad as..." She trailed off. How could she say that to him? Mayumi couldn't.
"I love you," She repeated. Those three small words...there just was no right words she could use to express her true feelings behind them.
"And it's not better this way," she paused, "you know it's not."
Mayumi's hands dropped, as did her angry tears. They spilled down her face, trickling off her chin.
