And are you talking about the Tsukihime series? Because there's a Shiki there too. He's a guy though and doesn't look at all like Ryougi Shiki.

You're talking about Tsukihime's Shiki then. He looks a lot like Mikiya(created by the same people).

The ones in the Academy(ie: the scientists) act like they normally do, only now they basically share Rick's evil will. So in the case of the scientists, they still try to perform everyday duties flawlessly yet they would still deviate from it to fulfill Rick's wishes. They don't move like zombies or robots or anything ^_^;
