Chuckling, Alcott finished buttoning his shirt up and left.

About twenty minutes passed before Alcott hurried inside. He looked a bit tired. Many people attending the ball asked him as their date, some of which didn't handle rejection well. Then there was the matter of the maid not liking a uniform being taken, even if he was given permission. His shirt was ripped a little at the sleeve and missing a button at the top. Michaela owed him big time for this.
Speaking of which, where was she?

Wearing nothing but the skimpy underwear, Michaela was on the bed, asleep. She lay on the bed, her long legs crossed at her knees and her arms behind her head. Her lips were curved in a light smile, and her toned stomach contrasted prettily with the red sheets.

Following the light snores, Alcott found Michaela on the bed asleep. He chuckled lightly as he walked over to the side of the bed and gazed at her. She truly was a beauty. Arrogant and stubborn, very much, but still that lighthearted girl he didn't mind babysitting. Setting the maid dress down on the foot of the bed, Alcott took the crumpled blanket at the side and draped it over her, tucking her in gently.

Michaela smiled softly in her sleep, her hand finding his wrist and holding tightly. She wasn't awake, obviously, but in her slumber revealed that soft, vulnerable creature that she really was, and in her vulnerability, needed him beside her.

Alcott was just about to pull his hand away when she curled her fingers around his wrist. He blinked slowly then sighed. Not this again. Michaela used to always do this when she was a kid. There were times where he had to spend the entire day on her bed because she'd cry if he left. Cole and Sarah would always make fun of him for 'sleeping' with her.
He tugged at his arm to try to break free, but she did nothing except hold on and sleep. Wily girl. Sighing again, this time in defeat, Alcott carefully got onto the bed and laid down beside her.

She immediately snuggled into his side, sighing and relaxing her strangely tense body. Her hand released his wrist and came up onto his chest, gripping the shirt tightly. One of Michaela's legs rested on top of his, as if claiming her territory in her sleep.

Oh, these pillows were comfy... He felt his eyelids droop, but just before he could sleep he felt Michaela stir and clutch onto him. His eyes opened and one twitched. Well this was... awkward. He glanced at her and raised a curious eyebrow. What could she be dreaming that caused this? He looked back to the ceiling and chuckled a little. Whatever, it was fine.
But if she moaned his name out again he'd be out the door.

The young woman settled into her deep sleep, holding him as tightly as she could, and only letting out a whimper every now and then for her nightmares.

Seeing that there was no way out of this, Alcott sank back into the cushions with a deep sigh. Might as well get back to sleep. Again, just as he was about to sleep he found himself looking at whimpering Michaela. It must be a nightmare about her freak of a cousin. His expression softening lightly, he wrapped an arm over her shoulders and pulled her closer to him, stroking her arm delicately.

Alcott exhaled angrily through his nose, his body getting stiff from laying down for a good chunk of his day. The least she could've done was fall asleep next to the remote! The impatient half-breed glanced back at her and tried to wriggle away again.

Michaela's eyes slid open, and a tiny sound rose out of her throat as she pushed herself up a bit. "Alcott?" she mumbled, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

Alcott was halfway off the bed when Michaela's words froze him. He slowly turned around. "Oh... You're awake." he grunted and looked around awkwardly. "Well.... Morning?"

"What time is it?" she asked, sitting up and stretching her arms high over her head. After a small yawn, she stood and set her hand on his chest for a second, steadying herself. Looking at a clock, she bit her lip. "It's 4:30. We better get to the shops for your tux and my dress."

He grunted. "Then give me my shirt and put the maid outfit on. It should be at the end of your bed."

"Well, aren't you in a bad mood," she remarked, pulling off the shirt and tossing it to him. Grabbing the outfit, she ducked into the bathroom, reemerging several minutes later in the uniform. "It's too small! I look ridiculous!"
