Actually, fallen... each tomb ends with a primal chamber with a 'boss'.
In the final tomb, you confront the keeper, which is a millenia-old Lich, an undead and somewhat immortal sorcerer.
If you manage to kill him once and for all, you get access to a final chamber where you face the servant of the God of Death that the family bound and formed a pact with.
But, I doubt anybody will make it to the fourth chamber.
Much less the shrine...
