I was reading the paper one day and what story was pushed into a corner? A story about two ten year old girls, two eleven year old boys, and a twelve year old boy who were all caught having sex in the same classroom during recess @_@ Me thinks sex ed, especially in the states, needs to start younger and beefed up. And over the past couple years I've been hearing more and more about 10-13 year olds having sex, so I get the feeling that this trend will continue.

1.) a. Sexualization of childhood
b. Media
2.) Abstinence only "sexual education". Eww. D:

Abstinence only sex ed has its ups and downs. On the bad side, if the kids do decide to have sex, they have less information about safe sex. But on the other hand, saying "Well if you do have sex, at least have safe sex" dumbs down what a huge decision it is. It's almost contradictory.

Same here. I'm 16, I've never had a boyfriend and haven't been in situations like that. But I do plan on being a virgin until I'm happily married (it may sound corny but oh well).

And 15 is not that bad compared to a couple girls in my old school (I won't mention their names but it wouldn't make any difference if I did), they were sleeping around just entering middle school (7th grade).

I lost mine back in November of 2006. I lost it to a guy I have known most of my life and am entirely happy with. I wouldn't change a thing about my first time. He was also a virgin when we did do it. We were also dating for about three months. I am also still with him and both of us want to spend eternity with eachother. You just have to wait for the right person. But definately wait until you are fully ready, educated and protected. You also have to be absolutely aware of the consequences that could occur from it. As I've noticed, a lot of people have pointed out how serious the decision to have sex is and I'll tell you, it was definately a serious decision for me. I was fifteen when I became sexually active, Being sixteen now. I have also been caught and talk to by my parents about having condoms, birth control pills, and other personal items that I'll not mention. I have a great career in mind for when I get out of school and I have to always remember to be careful and mindful of that whenever I have sex because if something happens, like getting pregnant, it could ruin my chance of getting where I want to be. Basically, you have to be incredibally mindful of what you're doing and be careful. You don't want to mess up your life at such a young age.
