Right now I'm working on
Fantaisie Brillante sur Carmen
Salieri's concerto for Flute and Oboe
Mozart's Flute concerto in D major (just got done working with C major for flute and harp... which actually wasn't very hard at all. I was surprised)
Antonio Giannini's Symphony no. 3 for band (this is for school)

A bunch of accompaniment...in preparation for a recital in October with my singer. It's mostly arias, but there's also art songs like Vaughan Williams' Songs of Travel. ^_^

Temporarily, I am working on Defying Gravity from Wicked the Musical. This piece is a great challenge for me because I cannot sing low notes at all. We'll see where this goes. I'm about to leave for college, where new adventures and new music awaits.☮♥♫«ⓢⓐⓥⓔ+ⓣⓗⓔ+ⓓⓞⓛⓟⓗⓘⓝⓢ»Sign the Petition here or here!

Well, I'm working on my 'Ouverture Melancolique' to the 'Edgar Allan Poe' Symphonic Suite No. 1. I already have the third movement finished (yes, the third...), which is, "Valse des Fantomes de la Rue Morgue" (Waltz of the Ghosts at the Rue Morgue).

I actually just started Praeludium and Allegro by Kreisler. I'm also playing Bach Partita No. 2 in D Minor... (Not the Chaconne, though.)

Though technically I've been "working on it", I'm really focusing on the Bruch G minor concerto right now, specifically the 3rd movement.
also, "reverie" by vieuxtemps (there's a youtube video of this piece, it's fairly obscure, but lovely).
EDIT: Also, Fantasie Op. 124 by Saint-Saens. It's the right amount of challenging, and shows off my mad octave skillz. cool

Ayame-Yukari I actually just started Praeludium and Allegro by Kreisler. I'm also playing Bach Partita No. 2 in D Minor... (Not the Chaconne, though.) Praeludium and Allegro is so beautiful. I like the recording by midori best (of course i can't reach the level of any of the recordings with that piece. and i'm secretly (not w/ my teacher) learning the ciaconna in d minor. it's so beautiful really.

Sionja This summer (recently performed): Cosi sextet (Fiordiligi - went pretty well, my Dorabella and I blend really well) Flower duet (Mallika - I've officially performed both parts so I want to retire it for a little while, haha) The fall (working on senior recital rep): Argento's From the Diary of Virginia Woolf set (I think I'm starting with "War") Strozzi's "Lagrime mie" (once it comes in) some flavor of Schubert set (already worked on "Gretchen" in the spring) Duparc set ("Extase" and "L'Invitation au Voyage" - did "Chanson triste" in the sping) Meyerbeer's "Ombre legere" or the Shadow Song (been working on it since November - it's my first real coloratura piece) For funsies: Impresario trio, "Ich bin die erste Saengerin" (Mademoiselle Silberklang) probably the first trio from The Magic Flute, "Stirb, Ungeheu'r" (Zweite Dame) possibly the card scene from Carmen maybe "Come scoglio" from Cosi fan tutte (seems like loads of fun) might get Strozzi's "L'Astratto" (because it's hilarious) I get bored in the summer so I try to keep myself busy, haha. : ) I LOVE the flower duet! But... I don't have anyone I know who I could sing it with.. my vocal teacher and I have done a duet before but we're both coloraturas sad And I love the shadow song! If you want to try more coloratura, a funny, not too hard one is Quel Guardo Il Cavaliere from Don Pasquale. Have fun with Carmen and all the rest! I love meeting other opera singers smile
