Apparently Charamander will die if it's flame goes out, but why can it withstand Surf?

Lady Psycho Sexy Rusti Fire Anyone else notice that in red and blue Gary has a ratata/raticate until you see him in pokemon tower, but from then on he doesn't? Switching out shitbox Pokemon isn't weird. What's weird is that he had one in the first place, being obsessed with strong ones and all.I hear that if you work on their stats a bit in RBY (and possibly in FRLG), using Rattata/Raticate can be very useful. Their moves Super Fang and Hyper Fang can be real HP shredders, making them very handy up until about your fifth or sixth gym battle....or so I hear...I'm testing it out right now.

Not sure if someone said this already, but how come the professors are the only one's who have the starters? Do they prevent them from appearing the wild?

Harupiggy Apparently Charamander will die if it's flame goes out, but why can it withstand Surf? It's tail is still hot enough to auto-ignite?

Super Fang hits for half of the targets current hp. 100%->50%->25%->12.5%->ect Hyper jsut hits hard

CherubiMaster Not sure if someone said this already, but how come the professors are the only one's who have the starters? Do they prevent them from appearing the wild? The starters are supposed to be "rare"- even, if you will, quasi-legendary. However, the thing is: other trainers out there have them. I think you're supposed to believe that somewhre in the world, those pokemon exist... you just can't find them because you're an idiot.

Once it learns Super Fang, that move can actually be really handy in a tight spot.

It's tail is still hot enough to auto-ignite? so it's a hax. if they supposed to die when the fire goes out, all water moves should cause charamander/it's evoled forms to faint no matter the level. even if that is cheap.
i mean, pokemon is srs bzns.
