Jounouchi tensed visibly, seeming a bit alarmed by how close Kaiba had gotten, but he refused to back off at this point, instead only straightening his stance so he didn't appear quite so short.
"H-hey, I wasn't even accusing you, so don't get so full of yourself! You were the one who brought up the idea in the first place, and I was just telling you that better not be the case!" he worked hard to keep his face angered, and nothing more. Hell, he was surprised at how much control he was maintaining at the moment, not even trying to attack Kaiba yet. Maybe he only tried to do that so much in the past because he knew his friends would be there to hold him back?

Jounouchi seemed particularly nervous now. As often as he acted over-confident, and as many times as he had tried to attack the guy, he actually knew Kaiba could kick his a** if he really wanted to. And the blond wasn't used to that idea. Sure, he wasn't a particularly big, muscular guy, but he had always used his litheness and dexterity to his advantage in fights, letting Honda be more of the 'muscle' participant. It had always worked, and Jounouchi rarely found himself in a fight that he could be outmatched in, except for maybe those few guys who were nothing but pure force, like Ushio.
Regardless though, Jounouchi hated having that lack of power, lack of physical control over a situation, and Kaiba always managed to make that so. It wasn't so much the idea of getting beat up that scared him, but more just... the idea of someone beating him in one of the few things in his life that he was confident in his abilities for. Especially someone like Kaiba... an arrogant b*****d who didn't make it his life to be out fighting on the streets, and who wasn't even that big of a guy. It just wasn't right for him to be so damn tough.
So of course, Jounouchi just straightened himself up more, puffing out his chest against Kaiba's and returning his best glare at the man. Just because he was intimidated didn't mean he had lost his poker face. "Well, I'd like to see you come up with a better explanation for all of this besides some weird shadow thing or something!" he huffed, "And don't you dare say it's a coincidence, because that is just way too many things at once!" But damn, even as he said these words, his voice just barely betraying the confidence he was attempting to show, Kaiba sure looked scary as hell with that blank expression...

Jounouchi felt his face heat up, having been caught off guard with that finger 'attack.' He should've kept a sturdier posture, rather than putting all of his balance into appearing taller. Regardless though, he was happy to have a bit of distance between them now, especially since he didn't have to voluntarily back down to gain it. So he maintained where he stood now, clenching his fists and masking a 'tsk' noise as he resumed his glaring at Kaiba, "If some weird thing is causing this, then how would it not help to get an explanation?! The more information you have on an enemy, the better off you are in predicting their moves and avoiding them, even with something supernatural! Or even if learning what's going on wouldn't help us out of this at all, at the very least it takes that sense of mystery away, so you're not left wondering in the dark." he added with a nod, confident in his own explanation. Granted, he wasn't exactly sure that he wanted to know what was causing all of this, because if it was like... a ghost or something, he might really end up losing it.

"You're such a b*****d..." Jounouchi growled between gritted teeth. He snorted to himself, trying to keep his frustration down to a minimum as he gave Kaiba his response, "Look, I came up with a practical plan back in the first elevator! Especially considering that this is your own friggin' building, not to mention you were the one who decided to get on another damn elevator, I think it's time you come up with something! Maybe spend some of your obnoxious words on a plan of your own, instead of on mocking me for not having one!" he put his hands on his hips, childishly, secretly deciding that Kaiba did have a bit of a point. At least on the practicality thing: It had worked last time, so why couldn't it this time? Though he still thought there was something supernatural going on...

Feet planted firmly on the floor, tensely, Jounouchi ground his teeth together, clenching his fists as he stared down at Kaiba. Damn, why was this guy so friggin' good with words?! Finally letting out a strong, relenting sigh, he looked off at the button panel once more, huffing quietly to himself before sitting down against the wall opposite Kaiba.

"Grrr, what was that?!" And Jounouchi was immediately rising back to his feet. So much for sitting and waiting. But there was just no way he was going to let Kaiba mock-praise him for agreeing with the guy!
But maybe... that would've been a better idea in the long run, because suddenly, Jounouchi felt himself tumble forward slightly as he stood, the shove enough to make him trip over himself, falling right towards Kaiba.
The blond extended his hands out in an effort to catch himself, gripping them firmly onto Kaiba's shoulders as he fell against the man, Jounouchi's face pressing into his chest, and his torso coming to rest in the other's lap.

And now Jounouchi's face was officially red. s**t, this was just... horribly embarrassing... not just for being clumsy in front of Kaiba, or for the mocking comment but just... this overall position they were in! <******** off, I just tripped!!" he quickly scrambled away from Kaiba, scooting back without standing towards the elevator wall again, by now having forgotten why he had been standing up in the first place.

((You know, I'm beginning to think that this demon is really just a yaoi fanboy. XD))

"...sure felt that way..." Jounouchi mumbled bitterly, knowing he wasn't the most graceful person in the world, but also that he wasn't that clumsy.
The blond just looked away though, a light tinge of pink still showing on his cheeks and ears. He didn't particularly want to face Kaiba after that little episode, especially not literally.
