~~ "It was...." Krystal glanced around, looking for the spot. She pointed at what was now half a building, filled to the brim with rubble. "In there some where." ~~

Kaimei cocked his head thoughtfully. "I have an ability that may help in this situation.... I've never revealed it to anyone, not even those of the gang I was closest to..... but I can sometimes sense the natural aura energy in an area," he admitted; unfortunately he'd never been able to do it at will before and wasn't sure he could do it now.

~~ "Sounds a lot like my ability." Krystal said, looking over at him, putting her hands on her hips. "But it took a while to master it. How familiar are you right now with sensing?" ~~

Kaimei sighed. "I have managed to do it from time to time, but never at will... this time, I have to do it at will even if the person in the rubble's already dead," he said softly. His gaze shifted to Krystal as he spoke then drifted to Kino Tsunami before shifting back to the rubble.

~~ "Just try your best," Krystal said encouragingly, "If it doesn't work, no biggie. We'll just have to dig through with no hints." ~~

Kaimei nodded slightly. He closed his eyes for a moment, his senses sharpening as he focused. Almost immediately he sensed-saw everything in shades of bluish flame; he shifted his attention to those with him and mentally tilted his 'head' before shifting his attention to the pile of rubble. He noticed a momentary flicker of pale green among the normal blue 'flame' of the normal aura roughly a third of the way down from the top of the rubble as he shifted his attention momentarily to further into the city. That isn't good... whatever radiation was used altered even the natural aura energy around here, he thought, seeing the aura 'flame' shift from the normal pale shades of light blue to a deep sickly shade of yellowish green; he could see forms shifting around in the energy and noticed they were all reptilian in appearance. He opened his eyes and sighed softly. "A third of the way down from the top I caught a flicker of something or someone, so either they're close to death or badly hurt, neither of which is good... there's also a lot more of those lizardmen between us and wherever that beam impacted," he said quietly. He cocked his head slightly. "I find it interesting that all three of you have strong auras, though they're different colors; Tsunami's is a deep green and seems to crackle slightly, while Fox's is a subtle reddish orange, but yours, Krystal, is a deep purple with lavender streaking through it," he said quietly.

~~ "Huh. Impressive. Even my sensing isn't that detailed." Krystal smiled slightly.
Fox walked over to the rubble. He pushed some rocks aside, and didn't have to dig far before declaring, "There's something here." Escavating a bit more, he found a body, half-covered still. Alive or not, he wasn't sure. "Kaimei, can you help me out?" ~~

Kaimei shrugged slightly. "Beginner's luck, I guess... and an eye for detail doesn't hurt," he said, slightly embarrassed at the praise. He strode over toward Fox and grabbed the edge of one of the rocks and dug in before hefting upward with his whole body, half lifting a rock nearly two thirds his own height and two or three inches thick off the person. "Can't hold this thing for long," he grunted. He felt an odd sensation he couldn't really describe moments later. A momentary flicker was the only warning he had as he shut his eyes quickly before a boom shook the pile immediately around him, a small bloom of dark gray smoke suddenly exploding in front of him. He heard the pebbles falling to the ground as he heard cracking thumps before he realized the weight was simply gone from his hands and arms. He opened his eyes and coughed in the clearing smoke, not really sure what had happened. He didn't realize he'd condensed the aura energy immediately around him into a tight area and released it sharply in an explosive burst of energy.

(He focused the energy around him, the energy he used to sense the person, without realizing it into an explosive burst though fortunately he wasn't aiming at anything.)

~~ (All right. Sorry, XD)
Fox instinctively rolled to the side, avoiding it. Aiming at anything or not, that definitely would've hurt him. ~~

Kaimei waved a hand in the dissipating smoke. "I don't know what that was, but that technique could come in handy if I can master it," he said wryly, looking down at the badly injured guy with dark blond-brown hair. Two long poles of steel rebar were stuck in the man's body, one through the chest, the other through his upper left thigh. "Damn, man... he got one heck of an ugly landing," he muttered, his voice wary, though he was somewhat surprised when the man dragged in a rasping breath before coughing up blood.

~~ Krystal stared at the man in slight horror. Probably because of the poles.
Fox covered her eyes.
She rolled them, pushing his hand away. "I'm fine, Fox." She told him, before walking over to the man and kneeling infront of him. "His brain pattern is weakening, and fast. He needs medical attention." ~~

Kaimei lifted his gaze to the ruins of what had once been his home city of Soleana. "We don't know if the nearest medlab is still standing and the people unchanged into those saurians," he said slowly. "I hate to say it... but there isn't much we can do, and even if we get him to the nearest medlab, it may end up being too late," he said, disliking the idea intensely. He closed one clawed hand near the guy's thigh, a few inches above where the rebar pole was sticking out, and wrenched his arm, hearing a sharp ringing snap as the steel snapped. He did the same with the other pole before he heard the man speak, and even then it was only two words: "Too late..." the man sighed as his eyes slid shut for the final time. Kaimei exhaled hard, closing his eyes as he forced back the tears for a man he didn't even know before he heard low hissing laughs. He twisted and hurled both poles of rebar, putting them through both the lizardmen's chests even as three more came over the small rise. A low feral growl escaped him, the tri-bladed weapon on his forearm shifting into what looked almost like a scimitar blade pointed down over his fist as his gaze narrowed on the charging enemies. Who they once were no longer matters.... they don't deserve to live like this, he thought.

~~ Krystal sighed, getting to her feet. She took out her blaster, and shot one of the lizardmen. Fox fired at the second one. Both fell down, unmoving. ~~
