Olivia hadn't even thought about using bait, or maybe that was what the enchantments were supposed to do; really, she should have finished that chapter if not the whole book. Hells, her trap (before Molan got his claws on it) was built more to stand the test of time rather than actually trap something. She didn't want the box to actually break apart on the poor creature but now it was hard to tell which way it would go.
The ghoul liked her logic though, "because it's something new and odd," she explained to Molan as she made to catch up to him, "wouldn't you want to go investigate it?" True, she didn't know the mind set of most of the mini population, least of all pygmy dragons - her own proved to be actually rather intelligent in their own ways - but she knew she'd go look at it if she were in their position.
Obviously her companion had a different opinion, so it was time to see what his plan was with his own trap. (And then they could patiently watch the traps to be sprung, hurray!)

Molan didn't have any bait either seeing as he didn't know what they ate. The book he'd read went over basics, it didn't give detailed information on every single species that lived there regrettably. Which left them a bit stuck as he had to leave the trap as it was. Hopefully, they were really stupid. So the thing they had made, which was a simple trap that a creature with half a brain should have seen for the trap it was... would remain. For now.
Seriously, if anything fell for that he had to question just how stupid they were. Really. Not that he could say she was wrong or anything, she had just as much chance at having that trap be perfect and just what they needed as his idea could be... maybe. "Hmm... only from a distance. Not close enough be caught..."
He wandered just far enough that they couldn't see the other trap before finally kneeling down at a spot and eyeing it. then toying with the dirt. It wasn't hidden away like her's, rather in a spot that was narrow enough to dig a hole, but still in an area where something might walk. "A covered hole, maybe?" He inquired, glancing over his shoulder briefly before back at the spot. Then he eyed it a moment before looking at his hands and shaking his head. He was not going to destroy his hands digging a hole. He'd probably get somewhere faster if he just did this in his natural form. Which is exactly what he did, shifting again and beginning to dig at the spot, trying to make a hole he figured would be large enough for one of these fabled 'pygmy drakes' they were trying to catch. Hey, at least he was polite enough not to drag her into his own efforts. After a bit of digging he stopped tilting his head at the hole obviously trying to decide if it was big enough. He glanced at Olivia, flicking an ear curiously and waiting for her opinion as he idly pawed at the edges a bit more.
Obviously he wanted to know if she thought it was big enough yet.

Even as absurd as it sounded, Olivia still liked her strategy, no matter what Molan thought. It might work, neither of them really knew for sure until time took its course. Like the ice fox had mentioned, luck had a lot to do with this besides location.
But, Olivia kept her opinion to herself as she followed after the boil further from her own set trap. Occasionally, she spared a glance in its direction. Strange sounds were coming from where it lay, like squawks and howls and others she was unsure something like a dragon would really make. She frowned for a moment before turning back to her companion as he made his suggestion.
"A hole..." she repeated with a tilt of her head. "It could work..." Just as much as her own, it even followed some similar patterns as her own (because, one would still have to wonder how a creature wouldn't notice a hole, even a covered one. Unless Molan had amazing covering skills). The ghoul stepped back, her eyes willed with awe as she watched him shift for a second time. Up the mountain, she didn't get a chance to get a good look at this form but now here it was. And he was fluffy, even with the element as he was and she couldn't help but smile. She kind of wanted to pet him.
But he looked up at her before she could do anything, flicking his ears in a curious manner. Olivia stared at him for a moment, unsure of what he wanted at first. It finally clicked, "O-oh, it looks good!"
Like she knew if it was deep enough.

Yes, it could work. And it would... if luck provided him the chance to make it work. He waged his tail slightly when she didn't seem to understand what his gaze meant before looking rather happy at the reply. Excellent, it was... good enough. Which led to him working to shove the dirt he'd dug up around and away to seemingly make it 'less obvious' that there was now a hole in the path. Brilliantly done, yes. He finally deemed his paws now mud and goop covered enough to shift back at that point and took to arranging a few twigs in places, stopping at the sounds they were hearing.
...was someone eating that box or something? There were certainly odd sounds coming from the direction of where they'd left Olivia's trap, which sort of urged him along to try to finish his 'decorative' placement of twigs. Because while Olivia had been trying to make her trap last forever, he was apparently trying to make it seem 'pretty' or at least tasteful. Once again proving but one thing. Neither of them was really going about this the right way. Still, it didn't take THAT long for him to get it to a respectable level. He did want it to cave in if something walked on it, so there were only enough sticks to hopefully hide it.
Because they had silently agreed the pygmy dragons couldn't be that smart. "Then this... should work." He didn't sound as confident as he had hoped, but it was good enough. So now it was time to figure out about those noises they'd been hearing. "Your... trap. Uh..." He lightly gestured in the direction of the latest growling noise as he stood up. He took a tentative step before starting along back down the path they'd gone earlier, sort of cautious in his steps.
He wasn't so sure he wanted to see what was making the noises, but best to check. If it was a dragon they needed to get to it before it managed to get out. Because a box was not all that sturdy really? "We should... check it." He added, nodding before walking off in the direction. She'd looked earlier too, so it wasn't a bad thought to assume she was curious about the sounds as well?
And really... what was the worst that could happen? Oh wait...

Well, the trap that Molan had placed did look pretty. Even Olivia could agree to that, and still ponder how her trap had looked the way it did after he had touched it. The boil had crafting hands yet her box looked like it was one hinge away from collapse. Maybe that was what they were hearing.
Olivia turned to the direction as he mentioned the box itself and what could possibly be happening in that part of the peak. The noises were beginning to die down, which might have been a good sign, but the ghoul wasn't sure she had even heard anything remotely like ... well a box falling. "Alright," she agreed at least. Couldn't hurt since there was at least some activity.
If she had taken the lead, she had taken the lead. But the small ghoul gingerly made her way down the same path that the two had taken to get to where Molan's trap laid buried in the ground to return to where he box had been nestled in within the rocks. What they would find, she wasn't sure, but part of her was excited. What if they found what they were supposed to find? How exciting would that be?
"Oh," Olivia squeaked out with a smile, picking up the pace once the box came into view. It had been tipped over with the single stick that had supported it up laying chewed on a few feet away. The ghoul nearly skipped to it, her blackened hands on its sides within moments. She pulled it up and "Oh, a shoe."
A shoe and ... a white feather. Was that blood near the box?

He followed along after Olivia, deeming that the lack of noise made it safe-r? It was her trap, she he mainly intended to let her check if she'd gotten anything. This wasn't about being afraid of being eaten, no not at all. Merely politely letting the ghoul check what was her's. Because he had to admit he was a bit excited to check his to see if he'd gotten anything. You know, when it had a chance to catch something maybe. He merely watched as the box came into view, and it certainly wasn't the way they'd left it. "Oh?" Both brows raised curious as to what she'd catch. Because he'd been skeptical, but... well. Apparently it worked!
Until she lifted the box. Blood... and a shoe. Wait there was a feather too. How did she... how did a shoe trip up a trap. His face showed utter astonishment, but not in a good way. He didn't know how to feel about a trap being sprung by well... that. Now, the chewed up stick might have helped. But this still meant a minipet had a random shoe. Why, oh why, did a minipet have a random shoe? He couldn't even wrap his mind around it. "I don't... uh... Olivia... why is there?" He stammered a bit as he wandered the last few steps forward, just to verify that, yes, in fact, she had what he thought she had. He just had no words. Really?
He didn't have much time to question the blood though, seeing as there was a loud cry from the direction they'd just come.
Now he knew why people trapped here, there were things everywhere in the scarefari. But he did hesitate a bit, still concerned at the fact there had been blood. That wasn't normal. "Perhaps... let's move this elsewhere?" Injured things were often angry, or things that injured things were worse. Either way he figured it best for the both of them to vacate for now. They could find out what was screeching unhappily from the direction of his trap.
He idly waved for her to follow assuming she would has he turned to go back. If some bird was trolling with his hole he was going to...
A few steps around a rock and... he did notice that the sticks were out of place as he wandered closer, and the sight of something trying to... dig it's way out? Or well claw it's way out. He moved a little faster at that, wondering what had fallen in just as he realized it was... some sort of dragon. Goodness knew if it was the right kind, but it was certainly close enough. "It worked..." So there was admitting that he thought it would fail to a degree, but now he had to catch it. Before it got out.
A deeper hole wouldn't have been a bad idea. Right.
He swiftly moved out, eyeing the small thing before reaching in and trying to nab it as carefully as possible. A few nips and scratches later he was holding a small gold-ish critter and staring stupidly at it. Then glancing over his shoulder at where Olivia should have been as he worked to keep it from escaping. "I think... it's right?" At least it wasn't a shoe. What would he have done if a SHOE had fallen and broken his trap?

"Actually he might.....Most of the time he just got too excited over foods and snaps. So I can't guarantee anything. Anyway, thank you so much for feeding him." AJ shrugged at the sunshine.
When the ghoul was talking to the demon, his attention shifted towards him also. He was the only one who didn't give his name. Fine, he will just call him cool boil at the moment.
He nodded at Siddie and the cool boil's opinion, the ghoul must trap minis before. "Fiona right? And - nice to meet you, Moriko." Thanks to his excellent hearing, he could hear the Kitsune's introduction. "Another key of trapping is to be patient and make sure your trap works, so you'd better test it before leaving it. I once trapped in the misty fields but I don't think ladies would love that place. So I suggest trying the Southern Beaches, it's a lovely location and you may also find opals as Siddie said." He made a pause and smiled to the Roc, he looked around the team and spoke again, "As what Professor said, different color of Pygmy Dragon lives at different Scarefari zones, so everywhere is fine. However, some zones are rather dangerous for beginners. Maybe we can set traps at different zones? For those who had experiences, we can set traps at the beaches while remaining can try the fields?"
AJ finished his sharing and looked at his watch. Time's up! "Excuse me, it's time to check my traps" He left the group for a moment to check his traps set on the beaches. The traps he used was rather different in nature, some are bush-like, some are a dented hole and some are cargo box. He stooped and was careful with his steps, because loud sounds will scare the minis away. He first checked the cargo boxes, obviously nothing touched them. Then the dented holes, nothing also. Finally the bushes, he pushed the leaves aside and there was nothing. He just tided it, pretending nothing has moved it. He made a sigh before checking on the last one. His harvest wasn't too bad, he found some opals when he set his traps, with the help of the head.
Checking the last trap turned out to be a surprise. The bushes were rustling. It meant something was eating the bait. He stooped a bit lower, almost knelt down and made sure he didn't make any unnecessary sound. Luckily, the head was being cooperated as AJ's "Shh" sign. The boil slowly pulled the green rope and got you! It noosed the minis. With one side of the rope grabbed in his hand, he used the other to push the bushes aside. It was a blue pygmy dragon! It was struggling hard because it was panicked, it fanned its little wings like crazy, hoping for its escape. The rope was tied on its mouth so it can't yell at all. Seeing how important the situation was, AJ quickly hold the dragon in his arms, telling it that it's okay, nothing to afraid now. Maybe both of them are dragon species, the little dragon calmed down eventually and even fell asleep within his bosom. Little claws are grabbing on his shirt. Nice job, AJ!
Holding the dragon, he went back to his team. "Anyone misses me?" He waved and showed them the little thing he caught. "I am back with this sweetie. Now, how to tell if it's a new coloration?" He asked the group while the little thing was making snoring noises.

"I'd better check mine too," Siddie nodded, and hurried off to check her spread. Most were empty, and she quickly reset them, but the last one, when she lifted the box, turned out to contain a pygmy dragon. She caught the scruff of its neck and picked it up to examine it; when she brought it out into the light, however, it turned out to be the pink-mottled coloration she'd seen plenty of times before. She set it down on the sand and let go, watching it vanish back into its hiding spot before she picked the trap up to place it elsewhere.
When she got back to the group, she realized that AJ was cuddling a pygmy against his chest, and she squeaked with excitement before putting a hand over her mouth to keep quiet and leaning over to see what he had.
"I've never seen that kind before," she put in. "I think you found a new one."
