Last weekend I shot my guns on my father's farm. I hope to inherit it someday. We are very much alike but I hope never to repeat his mistakes.
I feel that we understand each other but despite my similarities I am much different than he. He would barely understand the significance of a flash drive anyway. He has no conception of GB or TB or digital storage at all even if he was the one that gave me my first flash drive.

That sounds like a lot of fun! I've only fired off a gun once at my aunt's farm at a target, but I much prefer swords and close-ranged combat. However I do like archery, but it's just about the only form of ranged weaponry I'll use.
Not everyone is perfect with technology. My grandma, for example, got a brand new cell phone one day and downloaded music from a website I doubt she'd ever used before. It set her phone to be in Spanish, and it wouldn't unlock. Whenever she comes to my house, she brings her multiple tablets she's gotten over the years to replace the last one that "broke" and really just doesn't do the one thing she needs it to, and asks my dad, brother, sister, and I if we can fix any of them.

My father could understand it; he just doesn't care to. He's old fashioned like that.

I understand that. I've met people who are exactly that way, especially out in more of the countryside.
I'm so happy because I'm making an easy cosplay for myself for a comic con I'm going to next month. I'm going to be Magnus Chase from the series, "Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard". So far, I've been making the sword, Summerbrander, aka Jack, and it's coming along a lot faster than I thought it would. I've been at this for two days, and am already almost prepared to paint.
I also had Worbla from a previous cosplay I tried (and failed) to complete, and there was quite a bit remaining. That stuff EXTREMELY expensive, so I chose not to get rid of it all those months ago, knowing I may need it again someday. Well... I did! And I used it for my handle to reinforce it since it felt so flimsy being just foam board carrying the weight of heavily primered and painted foam board.
As for the rest of this cosplay, since I'm still on an extremely tight budget, I bought a green shirt and will embroider "HV" on it like Magnus has in Hotel Valhalla, then wear my black jeans and beat up sneakers. I found a good cosplay wig for about $12, and will style it slightly to be like his hair.
I've wanted to cosplay for so long, and I'm finally doing it. I chose not to procrastinate, and started a good 6 weeks early. Nothing to worry about now! biggrin

I'm setting up a Tumblr blog for my new story, The Vestria Chronicles. I'm going to be posting my character sketches, making a logo, icon, and posting the chapters as I write them.
Finished the sword for my cosplay! biggrin I also ordered the wig, and I'll be making the shirt. I'm hoping to get the wig by the end of the month, and then I'll be posting pictures in full cosplay.

I went to my first prom tonight (I was invited by a friend of mine), and it was really fun!! I danced for the entire time minus when we were drinking water or eating dinner. It was definitely worth going to! biggrin
Sing me to sleep These eternal days continue to beckon From far away they taunt me, call my name Sleep is my freedom, my only salvation
Goodnight, my dear Knights Let tomorrow awaken me Singing a serenade of freedom With its soft, embracing voice Goodnight, my dear Knights
-Goodnight, my Dear Knights (a song I may write for my new story)

So since I originally planned on "The Vestria Chronicles" being a metal album purely in lyrics, and then changed it into a story at the sudden realization of how hard it'd be to ever get it produced, I hit a writer's block for what I was going to do when I started writing chapter 1. All the chapters are the names of the songs I thought of. However, when I realized that, to overcome my writer's block, I tried to actually make one for the first chapter. Well in the end, I came out with more in 3 minutes than I have in 3 weeks. Now I know the solutions to overcoming writer's block with this story.
I found the perfect prank to play on my friend for April Fool's Day this year. She is obsessed with Nightwing, and apparently if you text a landline then it says the text in a robotic voice. So this year I will "send a text from Nightwing" to her, and then never hear the end of it but it will all be worth it in the end.

really? that works?
Yeah. I know it's happened to me before when someone texts the wrong number and it's just spam that gets sent to my house's landline, then it would be read off to us. It's actually pretty creepy.

Then again, no one I know has a landline. I would totally do it though. Ok, back to physics notecard.
I got my wig for my cosplay today. Somehow, it makes me look even younger. As if I didn't look my age enough... At least it works for the cosplay, though. sweatdrop
