Ajicka took the time she waited for Ashen to land and let Zero off, to contemplate the trainer's words. Guy sounded like he was going through a bit of a crisis. She wasn't really the sort to sympathize or pity, but she respected his decision to just hold off on everything else, and figure himself out first. Honestly, she probably ought to do more of that, but she wasn't really the introspective sort. She decided what she knew, what she thought, how she felt, and that was just how things were, until something forced her to realize otherwise.
She looked at him when he asked what she thought the Elite Four about. Her expression wasn't judging, per se, but it suggested she thought the answer was obvious, or at least, had been to her. "It's about working with you're pokemon. It's about working together towards a goal, just like everything else. About testing yourselves, seeing where you can get better, and how far you've come. You, against four -- five other people. It's a challenge, but it's not just about being strong," she answered. She paused, then shrugged and shook her head. "Least, it is for me. Guess it's up to personal interpretation," she admitted, releasing Houndoom again, "Just like eeeeverything else..." She headed into the cave, looking around curiously. Hopefully it wouldn't take long to find an egg here.

Houndoom easily bound into the cave, but paused a moment to let his eyes adjust, his tail whipping about as he stood at the ready. He listened, his eyes flashing as he looked around, the darkness seeming to subsided as he grew accustomed to it. Once he was ready, he moved further in. He was vaguely aware that there weren't any wild pokemon nearby, at least not that he could pick up on, and that none were challenging him. Normally, caves were pretty notorious for that, but either he was strong enough to scare them off, Jas trying to get into the cave made them wary, or Ajicka herself gave off enough Don't mess with me vibes that they were keeping their distance. Or maybe it was his trainer's friend, and his pokemon?

Zero listened carefully as Ajicka explained her own view on the Elite Four, and what it meant to challenge them. He was glad--or perhaps impressed--to see her respond so readily, and with such a sure answer. And one he would've expected, too, out of a good, ambitious trainer. He still knew very little of the girl herself, but he had a good hint to the type of person she was through that answer. He let his eyes rest again and once again raised his scarf, covering a satisfied smile as she finished. "I'd say that's a fine answer." Moving to catch up, he followed Ajicka into the cave, his pokemon following close behind. The young man did a quick look around the area they came in at, to see if there were any eggs that happened to be very poorly hidden for once. There wasn't, of course, but he couldn't help but wonder if they should've investigated some of the wild pokemon scampering off. "The clearing at the other end of the cave is where I found my egg," He noted.

The pokemon staying out of the way somehow made it a bit easier. It kept the cave nice and open, clear, and easy to look through. Lights from Jas' tail, once he was inside, bounced off the walls and helped illuminate the rocks some, too, and whenever Houndoom found a dark corner, he opened his maw, preparing an Inferno attack just long enough to light it up, and confirm there was nothing there. At least, until there was. He found an egg wedged between a few rocks, and began pawing at it, digging and biting, adamant about getting it out. He even turned, whipping his tail to catch it, and try and pull it out. Eventually, it popped free, and he jumped to catch it in his teeth, before heading back to give it to Ajicka. If he was paying attention well enough -- and he might not be, he hadn't been here for all of this, after all -- he was pretty sure this was the last one.

Ajicka glanced back at him, just out of the corner of her eye. A fine answer? Was he grading her or something. She gave him a look over, appraising him, but didn't question it. He didn't seem like he was, and she didn't care if it turned out to be the case. She looked ahead as he gave his advice, lifting her head up. "So you didn't find it in the cave?" she asked, looking at him. She blinked and looked over as Houndoom came trotting over, the fire type looking curiously between the two, apparently catching on that they were talking about eggs. He set the one he'd found at Ajicka's feet, looking up at her with interest. The way her eyes lit up, told him he was right about his count. "Thanks Houndoom. You've earned a long rest. And some barbecue or something, if they have it at this loo-ow thing," she praised, giving the hell hound an appreciative pat, before recalling him.
She looked to Zero, nodding to the cave opening and heading back out, waiting for Jas to get out before moving to climb on him. "I'll meet you up in Iki Town, alright? I'm gonna make sure my pokemon are healed up and everything, so I'll be at the pokecenter," she informed him, unsure whether he was going to join immediately. Either way, she planned on letting Jas stretch his wings properly, and seeing how fast he could move, so the moment she was on, they were off at max speed.

As the topic returned to the egg hunt itself, Zero nodded his head as he informed his companion of where he'd found his egg. "It was just where I came down at, so yeah, I looked around..." His voice trailed off as her Houndoom came before them, planting the last egg Ajicka needed on the floor between them. He couldn't help but chuckle slightly at the fire-type's timing, but with that, their egg hunts were finally wrapped up entirely. He'd just have to wait for the luau to see what he could get for the shells inside the eggs.
"Alright, that sounds good," he replied, turning to return Ashen to his ball. The flying-type's eyes seemed heavy as he was pulled back into the ball, clearly ready for sleep after a long day of stretching his wings. "It's pretty late, so I think I'll find a room and rest for the night myself. If I tried staying up through the night I don't think Nova would give me a moment without regretting it." With another, small laugh, Nova placed a hand onto his shoulder, and a white hand reached up from his shadow to grab his leg. He made a small motion to wave at Ajicka, before the psychic-type warped them away, leaving nothing but a short rush of wind where they once stood.

Daeva was the closest, with her flamethrower, but honestly, he didn't really want to take the risk of letting her out. Not that he was scared, or anything, he was just... wary. She'd been pretty manic before. He still needed to figure out what he was doing with her. He needed to read that book that Scarlett had given him... Or the translations, at least. Speaking of his pokemon, though, it might do well to let Ten out. Even if she was heavy.... and immobile.

Striding through the cave, Zak decided to postpone letting the baby pokemon out. He hadn't been exactly neglecting her, after all; he might not have released her since he'd been on the move, but while he was working, he'd let her out, played with her, had others help her get her energy out and work her jaw, and, hopefully, get her through the teething faze. He'd actually enjoyed tugging on her chain while he was working, and watching her wiggle around, trying to spin around to snap playfully at him, and failing terrible do to her extremely limited mobility. She was far more playful than Daeva had been when she'd just hatched, that was for sure.

Ah.... dammit. Thinking about the little shark, he wished he could let her out. But, at nearly sixty pounds, she was far too heavy to carry. Whereas Daeva had been small, and pretty much weightless, Ten ate metal, and it showed. She'd grown since she'd hatched, too, thanks to him feeding her regularly, including a good dose of metal lunch pants from the cafeteria. Maybe he'd let Deys out, and have him carry her... She liked him. She liked trying to eat him, but she still liked him. He was pretty sure it was only the metal she was interested in, anyway.

He reached the other side of the cave with a frown, immediately throwing his sunglasses back down, and looking around for sign of his pokemon. Where... Ah. Meebus was looking over at Sotnik, with Boo rubbing up against him as the two waited for the serperior to gather the egg he'd found. Zak tried not to look too amused at the struggle his starter was clearly having. After a moment, though -- contacting the Xatu on the way -- he headed over to help the handless pokemon. He supposed picking up an egg was rather difficult, when you tried to use your tail.

Flying into Alola, Scarlett looked at Zak's message again, drawing up blanks. There was too much going on, too much to think about, too much spinning around her head, and what was worse, was that she couldn't shake it off until she had responded. How was she supposed to focus on the task at hand? Was this his intention? Slow her down? Throw her loops? It couldn't be.
