When Namek exploded, it is uncertain of whether or not Goku made it off of it in time, but it was unlikely that he did. Wishing Krillin back to life would be impossible because he would be brought back to where Namek used to be and then he'd just die again without air to breathe. Guru also has passed making Moori the new Namekian elder.

The wishing began with having Krillin's soul be brought to earth's check in station first, then he was brought back to life followed by Yamcha being brought back. Then on the next set of three wishes, Chiaotzu was brought back first, and then Tien and then the Nameks relocated to a new planet. Goku is alive, however and is on some other planet not wanting to come home just yet.

Garlic Jr is back from the dead zone and he is out for revenge. He has already shrunken Mr. Popo and put him in a garlic shaped jar and he has shrunken Kami and has put him into another garlic shaped jar. Meanwhile, Gohan is off to Master Roshi's for a party unaware that Garlic is spreading the dark water mist all over the world.

The black water mist affects everyone save for Krillin and his girlfriend who is on Master Roshi's Island. When innocent Gohan arrives, Chichi began attacking. Then the spice boys showed up and tried to capture Gohan, but Piccolo was there to save the day and now everyone is ganging up on Piccolo.

Flying to Korin's place with Krillin's girlfriend in tow, Gohan and Krillin set out to find the sacred water, which is at Kami's lookout. Krillin leaves his gf with Korin and flies off with Gohan to the lookout where Piccolo now infected was waiting for them.

The spice boys begin attacking both Krillin and Gohan when Gohan refused to tell Garlic Jr where Goku was. Unable to control his rage, Piccolo began to attack Gohan and Krillin next.

This whole time, Piccolo was only pretending to be infected. When he grabbed Krillin and pretended to bite Krillin's neck, he whispered the plan to Krillin about how to free Kami and Mr. Popo. This plan worked. And now Kami and Mr. Popo are free from the jars.

Kami and Mr. Popo have gone to the bowels of the lookout to spead the sacred water in a hurry, but they are going to have to face the former guardians of the earth to do it. Meanwhile, the Makyo star has been orbitally aligned, thus making Garlic Jr and the two remaining spice boys stronger.

Kami was about to reach the place he needed to be when energy was running out. Piccolo too is suffering, but Gohan is willing to protect Piccolo at all costs.

Kami has Mr. Popo spread the sacred water just in time. Garlic Jr. Opens a path to the dead zone where he hopes to suck in Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo.

When Gohan blew up the makyo star, Garlic Jr shriveled up and was sucked into the dead zone thus everything went back to normal.

Chichi hired a tutor, whom she eventually had to throw out the window. Vegeta returned from space after failing to find his Kakkorot and reluctantly took orders from Bulma. Meanwhile, Frieza and his father King Cold are just moments away from Earth to wreck havoc.

Everyone meets up to face Frieza as he lands and recollects what had happened to him after Namek went boom. But then, just as Frieza's henchmen were going to go out to find everyone, a mysterious young stranger slices them to ribbons.

The stranger takes care of all of Frieza's henchmen and then finishes Frieza. Meanwhile the others watch in amazement at what this kid can do.
