Jounouchi gave a bit, appreciative laugh in response to Malik's joke. "I'll be sure to tell everyone!" he said with a big grin, looking over at Malik with one eye as his bushy bangs fell in front of the other. By now, Jounouchi had completely forgotten that he was supposed to go over to Yuugi's today or about his still-unwrapped hand. ((correct me if I'm wrong, please, but they ended up fighting before they could get that thing wrapped up right? XD;; )) He was enjoying himself, and enjoying the super special awsome tea as well. So he and Malik really could get along. That was a nice thought to have...
PostPosted: Sun Apr 01, 2007 4:58 pm

"You know, there is something else about my tea... You see... my tea is magic." Malik said with a wink of the eye, his eyes glistening as if he truly believed what he was saying. "When you drink it, you have the power to change fate..." Malik started, staring into the cup of tea with a mystifying smile, "At least, the story goes something like that. My family and I told this story of the quest of a young boy named Namu. Namu existed in Egypt in the late 1200 BC, his father was fighting in the Battle of Qa'desh. He too would have to fight in the war once he came of age. Namu did not want any part of war. He also had another problem, you see, Namu a mere servant had fallen in love with the daughter of the Pharaoh. He knew that the only way he could change his fate, was if he obtained one sip of Saiidi (or black tea). He ran away from home to search for a drop of the powerful substance.

The Gods were unhappy with his behavior. As he journeyed through the Tesherit (or desert), he suffered the wrath of the gods, Set and Ra. The sandstorms were intense, and the heat even more so, but he kept going deeper and deeper into the Tesherit despite. Weeks and weeks passed by and the sandstorms and the intense sun continued, but Namu still trekked forward.

There is no person who can win against the Gods. Namu's fate did change. He no longer had to serve in the war. No, instead he died before he could become old enough to serve. He starved to death, and his flesh burned under Ra's wrath.

When my father told me this story, I cried and cried. Poor, poor Namu. I was so angry that my father had told me such a story. My father said, I was just like that foolish boy Namu. I too, would never be able to change fate. I was a wreck. Then Isis and Rishid told me that my father had changed the end of the story. They told me that in the true story, Namu had managed to find the tea after all. When he had drank it the young princess and him turned into birds. They flew away together, now free to soar the skies forever, away from the horrors of war, and the chains of status. I was captivated by the story, and I began to believe that I too, could change my fate...."

And now, perhaps you can be the one to change my fate, Jounouchi-kun...

"Can substance as ordinary as tea really be magical?" Malik's smile was full of mystery. "The story isn't just about the magic tea. It's about believing. I believe there are magic and powers beyond the imagination found in even the most ordinary of things. " He said, speaking softly letting one of his long fingers caress the handle of the porcelain tea cup.

(Umm, I don't recall... I hope he isn't bleeding everywhere though. Malik doesn't like blood in his clean house. X3)

((Meh, they're just cuts. Not like dripping flesh wounds or anything. XD;; ))
Jounouchi stared at Malik the entire time, captivated by his story. It was really interesting. He had never heard that tale before, probably because it was only native to Egypt. He recalled to himself that when he had first met Malik, Malik had introduced himself as Namu. Maybe, whether he used his father's end to the story of the true one, Malik related himself to that Namu guy. They did have an... "alike" feel to them.
As the story was finished up, Jounouchi looked down at his up of tea with a smile, "Well, I definitely believe in magic. I've experienced too much of it not to. But it is kind of funny that the tea is so good and helpful, yet it is called "Black Tea." That makes me think of dark magic, like in the Games of Darkness." he said with a nod. He then looked up at Malik, still smiling, "So, by drinking this tea, what fate am I changing anyway?" he asked, seeming interested in a response.

Malik chuckled, gazing through blond bangs with impenetrable lavender eyes, intense and passionate from telling his favorite story. His eyes and expression glowed with life... just like they had when he was a child captivated by the stories and fairy tales of the world outside of his tomb. Malik loved this kind of thing, and he was even more thrilled that Jou took interest in his fable, "That is a mystery, isn't it? The problem with dealing with fate, is that we can't see the future. So we never can know if we are changing it or not. We can make assumptions, and predictions of sorts but we can never truly be sure if that is what was meant to happen or not. But, I'm babbling. " Malik set his tea cup down on his coffee table, and then folded his legs under him turning so that he could face Jou better on the couch, "But I might be able to... show you the answer to your question. I have something I want you to try. Are you up for it?"

(Oh yea, I totally realized two pages ago it was green tea... enh, I hadn't researched when I wrote that. Egyptians have only recently been exposed to green tea, and it isn't very common. They generally drink black. Oh, the joys of the internet. I'm just gonna change the post... cause it bothers me. You don't have to worry 'bout it though. And okay, I'm glad Jou isn't bleeding everywhere. X3

Jou: Umm Malik your tea was green, it just turned black cause of my blood that you failed to help me wrap... not cause of your dumb stories. >=D

Akila needs to stop going off topic. o__O wink

((XD Yeah, I was wondering about that but just assumed the tea could be magical whether it was black or green. <3))
Jounouchi blinked curiously in response to Malik's question, "Well what is it?" he asked, obviously interested in this proposition, but not wanting to agree to anything without knowing what it was. He had learned not to do that back in the gang life... while Jounouchi wasn't the brightest bulb in the bunch, he at least did tend to learn from his mistakes.

"Maybe we should try it when you trust me more.... " Malik said, his smiling growing thin with realization. He completely forgot this aspect of the procedure... it wouldn't work if Jou didn't trust him. Time to change the subject, "Anyway, would you like me to get you some more tea then? And perhaps some snacks?" He said, standing up promptly, deciding that serving his guest was a fate better then actually telling Jou what he had been planning to do. Seeing, as their relationship was one on thin ice, he'd rather not crack it... especially not now. It seemed they both shared the same problem of his dark half, and getting to the bottom of his sudden appearance was Malik's number one priority.

Malik decided he would not let himself get distracted. He wanted to rid himself from this horrible evil once and for all, and in order to do so it would seem he needed Jou's help. Yes, he hated relying on others to carrying out his plans. People weren't normally worth his energy, they just dragged him down. This time it seemed inevitable. That had their was a strange vibe about Jou.. he couldn't quite explain it... but he just sensed it'd be better to have Jou around for the ride then go without him.

(Enh... sorry 'bout that...

*suffers writers block*)

((It's fine. XD;; By the way, what was Malik planning?))
"Trust you more?" Jounouchi asked blinking, now extremely curious. But he quickly forgot about his curiousity when he heard the mention of food, "Yeah, that sounds good!" he said with a grin, handing Malik his empty cup.
((Um... Jounouchi's not really thinking anything over right now... except about food so... I'm just gonna leave it at that if that's okay. XD;; ))
PostPosted: Tue Apr 03, 2007 4:52 pm

(Ah I don't mind....

Hmm.. it's a secret. But, it's something very real.. and very unbelievable. AND It's nothing perverted! D= Although... if it wasn't for these damn Gaia rules... *twisted smile*)

Malik took the ivory tea cup slightly amused by the amount of enthusiasm Jou seemed to show in reaction to the mention of food. Well, he was rather skinny. Maybe he didn't eat enough at home? "Somebody missed breakfast, did they?" The Egyptian said wish a chuckle, "Well, I don't have much that you'd like. I don't have much Japanese food in my house at the moment. But, I have some vegetables and American potato chips. Oh, and I have a few leftover onigiri... would that be okay?"

((XD;; *cough*PM's*cough*))
"That's fine, I like any kind of food!" Jounouchi replied grinning. It was true; he may've not been the healthiest eater, but he wasn't actually picky. He just found junk food more filling. He then thought back for a moment, "And I did eat breakfast, but it was a while ago." he said with a nod.
PostPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2007 6:46 pm

"If your hand is feeling better... you can help me -seeing as you seemed so insistent on it earlier. Besides, the quicker we get the food out the, the faster we'll get to eat." Malik said with a grin, gesturing to the kitchen.

(Whats with the coughing? You sick or something? ><

I'm so annoying sometimes. Jounouchi can find out for himself perhaps. >=P)

(( sweatdrop ))
Jounouchi looked down at his hand blinking, having forgotten that it was even hurt, "Oh yeah..." he said, "This thing." he then looked up grinning again, "It's fine now; I'll help." he said, standing up.
PostPosted: Fri Apr 06, 2007 9:49 pm

Malik nodded. "Good." He said taking the the onigiri out of his refrigerator. "The chips are in the left cabinet next to the oven." He stated, as he began to take the dishes out of his cabinets. "So, what are your plans for today? Just strolling around Domino and enjoying the weather? Or did you have other plans?"

Jounouchi nodded, heading over to the cabinet and pulling out the bag of chips, "Well, usually on non-school days I just go over to Yuugi's place and hang out. Actually, I usually go there after school too." he laughed, "Yuugi might think it's weird that I haven't shown up yet, but it's not like we had anything officially planned. I have no obligation to show up, so really I didn't have any actual plans." he finished, finding a large bowl and pouring the chips into it.

"Oh, it's good to have friends isn't it?" Malik said, arranging the onigiri and the vegetables on the ceramic plates. "So, you mostly hang out with them right? That means you aren't 'seeing' anyone then?" He added casually.
