Lethkhar Can someone please tell me what the hell this song is about? Alone Down There by Modest Mouse. How do, how do you do? My name is you Flies, they all gather around me and you too You can't see anything well You ask me what size it is, not what I sell The flies, they all gather around me and you too I don't want you to be alone down there To be alone down there, to be alone The Devil's apprentice he gave me some credit He fed me a line and I'll probably regret it I don't want you to be alone down there To be alone down there, to be alone Ah. I don't want you to be alone down there To be alone down there, to be alone Listen to it if you can. It sort of reminded me of The Lord of the Flies. What do you guys think? Well, probably about two people that died. Y'know, flies gather around dead stuff a lot. And then there is the down there, and the devil part.

That's funny, 'cus someone else told me that it's about prostitution.
Did you listen to the song? The person who's singing doesn't sound human...

I'm something of a Coheed & Cambria nerd. *coughCLAUDIOFANBOYcough*
Really, I'm just wowed by the emotion with which Claudio and those who write these songs along side him are able to endow their music. At that, it all tends to be about a single on-going story, which is a work of genius in and of its self.
At the moment, I'm listening to Time Consumer, from their first album, Second Stage Turbine Blade. It's rather slow, and entails the plot which drags up the past for Coheed and Cambria Killganon, husband and wife in a sci-fi universe, who are pulled into their darkened past by a mysterious man. He informs Coheed that he is infected with a virus that, by some means, would transform him into a creature known as the Monstar if a certain condition was met, and drain the nearby Star of Sirus(which is, to say, a giant battery for the keywork. Or... something like that. >.>)
He then tells him that his four children: Josephine, Claudio, Matthew, and Maria, are infected with a mutated strain known as the Sinstar, which would do the same on their 21st birthdays reguardless of condition. He then hands Coheed a bottle of poison, and tells him that if they are not dead by two the next morning, then they would die by his men's hands.
"Maria my star, Matthew goodnight... You know, my lord, when you'll be forgiven!"
Each of their songs holds to a part of the story like this. It's a LOT to wrap your mind around at first, but I would reccomend them to anybody, if not for the plot, then simply for the fact that Claudio is perhaps the demi-god of vocalists.
