"Thanks," Alona replied lying back down.
She tensed when he suddenly asked what happened; was he referring to the bruises on her body? Alona bit her lip and remained silent.

Henry listened to the silence for a minute, not wanting to push the girl. It was plain as day what those bruises were. Fists, beating down cruelly. But sometimes, only sometimes, bad bruises were from accidents. Despite how he doubted this, he had to make Alona admit it.

"Alona." He looked at her when she still didn't answer. "He beat you, didn't he?"

Alona closed her eyes and took a deep breath in before looking to Henry. She smiled bitterly before replying.
"Who else would?" she stated.

Henry gave a low growl. He knew this answer but he still hated it.

"Going to kill him." He got up with a grunt and made a b-line to the bedroom door.

"What? Henry?!" Alona exclaimed as she stood in front of the door. "You can't! He'll kill you!"

"And I'm just suppose to pretend I didn't see bruises all over your body?!" Henry barked.

"Alona, you can't defend him forever. You shouldn't even be standing in my way." He growled lowly. "He's clearly a jackass and needs a ******** bullet in his d**k."

"I-I'm not defending him! There's nothing you can do... I am his property. Why do you even care anyways? I'm just a hooker for you and others to ********," Alona replied.

"And is that all you want to be?" Henry asked, tilting his head. "Nothing but a piece of property for him to beat on, then send out to exchange sex for money..?" He knew that's exactly what her purpose was, but it was wrong, even to him. She was a person, not property

"Alona, you know this is wrong..."

Alona looked away and bit her lip.
"I know it's wrong, but... what else am I supposed to do?! Alona screamed.

At the scream, Jack bolted down the hallway, almost immediately at the door. But he didn't open the door. He knew better than to think violence was going to happen between them.
He was listening in though.

Cade rose an eyebrow and looked towards the hallway at the scream. "What the hell?" He murmured before getting up. He wasn't going to check it out, it was their own business, plus he was too tired.

"Night Jack." He grunted as he passed the man on his way to his room.

"Get out of my way!" Henry barked in reply.

"I'll take care of the b*****d myself and you won't have to deal him anymore."

Alona stared at him, and got out of Henry's way as he got out of the way.
"Why?" Alona asked as she watched him.

"Because I can't stand by knowing he's beating the s**t out of you for no good reason." Henry growled, looking over at Alona from the corner of his eyes.

He gave a sigh. This was turning out to be more difficult than he thought.
"It just isn't right.. I know it's how things work and I couldn't stop all of it, but damn it. When it's right in front of me I got to do something.

"I gotta at least TRY to be a good guy once in a while."

Jack then tapped the door twice to let him know it was him.
