Marco laid silently in the shadows of his tree and listened to the others. He gave a quiet sigh of relief when he heard Bakher say he'd protect her. Marco could tell he was powerful and trusted him, but if they did come back and she was harmed in anyway he'd kill him. Marco would offer his services as well, but the combination of him already being tired and hunting down a group of those creatures that had been waiting to attack, left him in a very weak state though he chose not to show it. He closed his eyes and tried to rest. He wasn't sure if others had noticed he was still there, but he didn't care, in his current state he would be useless.
((Well, I shall be more active. My first semester of college is over. And I finally got my new laptop. *points at the sky, yells "HELL YEAH!!" then falls to the ground exhausted.*))

Larka smiled meekly at all of her protectors; she just hoped it was enough. Looking around now, there was no sign of the bloodshed that had just occurred except for injuries on her own self, but she remembered: They barely made it.
With a sigh that came out as a bit more of a groan, she stood and wobbled a bit on her feet. She could do this. She slowly padded over to the foul carcass and wrinkled her nose is disgust. It smelled awful. The injuries is sustained were still leaking pus-colored fluid. It smelled like it had been dead for months without actually decomposing. She noticed insects wouldn't even touch it. That thought made her look up and sure enough, no vultures or scavengers flew overhead. Everything knew that these things were bad, and she was to track them down.
With another sigh, she lowered her head and inhaled. The choking scent made her gag and turn her head away quickly for fear she'd throw up on the body and mess up the scent. Her ears flattened and her tail tucked between her legs at the thought that she'd have to do it again.
She bowed her head, squeezed her eyes shut, inhaled, and concentrated as hard as she could on the scent. There was Bakher, he must have kill this one. The strange scent of that new female came up, so much like a human it unnerved her, but it wasn't strong. Larka put her paws up the beast and scratched at the flesh. A wound opened easily enough and more yellow-green goo flowed from the area. She got as close to the wound as possible without actually sticking her nose in the "blood". The beast itself smelled like spoiled, poisoned meat. Instinct rang alarm bells, telling her this was not something she should be near, but she wasn't going to eat it, so she should the thought away.
Then she picked up what she was looking for. She picked it up from the back and the neck of the creature. It was a scent that made her nose tingle, kind of like the way Magick did. Only this tingle was more painful. Like a burning. It made her nose itch and her eyes water. She had to step away from the carcass because she went into a sneezing fit. But she had the scent. She knew what it was.
Once the sneezing subsided, the she-Wolf lifted her head and began a proud hunting call, then she took off around the mountain to the Forest on the other side. {Awesome, Tom! ^0^}

Kirisa saw the way the she-wolf moved, she would only be a hinderance if another fight broke out. Walking up to her (Which didn't take long due to her large strides) She raised a claw and placed it gently on Larka's forehead. Concentrating, she began to flow healing magicks into her, relieving her of pain and injury. "That should feel better" she said gently. She then walked over to Bakher and took another look at his wing. Deciding to give him another dose of healing magick to be on the safe side, once she was satisfied, she fell n line behind Larka. "Okay! Let's get going".
Kaishin continued to stare at the Tiger anthro, wondering why she wasn't saying anything... then it finally became too much to bear, he had to say it. "What's the matter? Cat got your tounge?"

He eyed the others as Larka scented the dead Erinyes, then backed off a ways, sneezing furiously; He'd seen this sort of reaction before. The smell of a Erinyes was something you never forgot, and that was with a LIVE one, not one that had been virtually gutted by his talons, and he himself had a sense of smell only a little bit more sensitive than a humans. For a creature that could smell up to a hundred thousand times better than a human, it had to be horrible.
He went over to her, then froze as the Dragoness, who had been a little ways away from them, came over to them, then went over to Larka. He was about to step between her and Kirisa, then noticed the glimmer of Magik around the Dragoness, and realized that the dragon magess intended to heal her, and forced himself to stay still. He nearly jumped out of his hide as the Dragon, when she finished with Larka, came over to him, and he almost, almost swung at her as she did her healing Magik; he'd greatly prefer that someone ask before they did Magik on him. He looked the wing over, then folded it back against his back, nodding gratefully to the Magess.
Larka's howl made him wince a little as she moved off, evidently following the scent; He didn't like really loud noises that much. The larger Dragon was obviously coming with them, as she fell into position right behind Larka, to which he had to roll his eyes, but he took up his own position behind and to the left of the Magess without a word.

Kirias grinned at Bakher's reaction, she knew that would get a rise out of him. She had promised Kaishin that she wouldn't attack the Gryphon... but she said nothing about teasing him. "What's the birdy?" she said, poking him with a claw. "You don't have to pout, I'm not going to hurt you. You're far too amusing for that".

Leran came up behind them. He saw Kirias messing with Bakher. He came up beside them. "Leave him be Kirias." ice formed on his legs. "Dammit." another smash into the tree.

{I'll give you guys initial control over where these things and their Master are. I dunno where you wanna go with it, so it's up to you. :3} Nomaki continued to stare at the creature's carcass from her safe place in the highest part of the nearest tree. As soon as she caught wind of the beasts, long before the winged-cat creature brought them to the clearing, she immediately sought safety. Too many times she'd seen these beasts kill. Too often, her father would call his "Hell-Hounds" on her whenever she acted up.
She could feel phantom poison-tipped claws rake her flesh where the wounds left scars on her back. Panic made bile rise in her throat and she refused to leave the safety of the tree until the beast was completely destroyed. These strangers had taken the right approach in burning the bodies and cleansing the soil; however, the one body they left would attract others.
Fear blocked out all other sounds around her until she felt Vadi tugging on her hair. He pointed with his snout down at the Wolf who always seemed to be able to sniff her out. Her eyes wide with fright, she shook her head. She would not come down. Not for all the fresh meat and gold in the world. Her life was much more valuable than that. 'You'll have to come up here,' her thoughts spat, but her mouth stayed shut.
~~~~~
Larka had no time to thank the Dragoness before she had taken off. She had to follow the scent. If it was too old, even her expert nose wouldn't be able to pick it up. She ignored the bickering behind her and continued to track her prey.
Her fear had dissipated in the thrill of the hunt. She was a Huntress. She was a killer. Whatever was on the other end of this trail would feel her claws and fangs and power. This was her duty.
The scent had suddenly turned fresh and she stopped to survey her surroundings. Wherever this place was, she could no longer see the mountain, so she knew they were far from the Den. The sun was no longer at it's highest point in the sky, but it was high enough to still cast light over the Forest. She hoped whatever her enemy was could not fight well in the dark; if it couldn't, this would be entirely too easy.
She continued to follow the trail until she spotted another of the foul creatures: this time, a live one. Her hackles rose and she waited for the others to catch up before taking any action. The she-Wolf did not want to mess this up.
Kaishin looked up at the tigress, why did she always have to be so hostile? As for coming up there... well he wasn't much of a tree climber, but as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. "Okay then... if you really want me to". He drew his fist back and slammed it into the tree, shaking it violently. The vibrations caused the tigress to fall from the tree, and be promptly caught by Kaishin. "Nice of you to drop in" he said with a grin. "Now then, shall we talk?"
{But it would be bad if we asked/guilted her into coming back and then she didn't put much effort into it because she didn't want to come back anyway. If she wants, she can come back herself. Otherwise, we're fine as we are. And Laz, I'm waiting on you to post Bakher. It's pretty hypocritical to complain about slowness when you haven't posted yourself. :/}
[[Hey, guys! Ok, so I know I was gone for, like, freaking FOREVER, and all, and I know I've missed out on a LOT, but I was kind of... grounded... for a really long time, and that's why I never posted. I've actually really missed you guys and wondered how you were getting along with the story. I was planning on spending tonight reading over all the parts I missed and then trying to think of an excuse for my characters to have been gone, but I'm sort of lazy. If someone (prolly Laz, since he's the one who actually wants me back in) could send me a sort of summarization of what's happened while I was gone, I would love that person foreverz. lol. I'm really glad to be back, as long as you'll all have me. smile ]]
