She mock-rolled her eyes. "Who is this very lucky, obviously incredible, yet very apologetic woman?"

"I think you know her." Damian smiled and held her necklace out to her.

She slipped the necklace over her head and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I'm sorry," she muttered, trying her best to really reach him as he was about a foot taller.

"Oh please," he snorted and wrapped his arms around her waist. "You don't have to be sorry, just as long as I know you still love me." He hesitated. "You do, don't you?"

She smiled, tilting her head so she could kiss him. "Darling, I couldn't stop if I tried. You still love me too?"

He paused for a second and leaned down, giving her a swift kiss, then pulled back just an inch. "Does that answer your question?" he asked softly and stroked her cheek with the back of his hand.

Myka closed her eyes, leaning her head towards his hand. "This is real, right? I'm not still imagining this? There's no other explanation."

"'Course it is!" the American laughed and held up his free hand, pressing his thumb and index fingertip together. "Want me to pinch you?" he offered.

"Maybe later," she chuckled, pulling away and leaning on a stone bench. "Arwen's not going to be very happy with us."

His laughter died down at the mention of Arwen's name. Oh, that's right, he left her alone at the safe house.... And with Dominick and Xaene, he shuddered and thought about Arwen's poor, innocent mind being corrupted. "I'd rather her be mad at both of us than having to tell her that you wouldn't be coming back for some time." he said and glanced over when he heard someone else talk.

Myka nodded at the new woman, turning her attention back to Damian. "I should still get back out there. They need me." She wrapped her arms around his waist, closing her eyes. "But this time, I want you to fight with me."

Damian smiled and held her close, resting his head against hers and sniffing her hair lightly. "So where are we going?" he asked softly, part of him wanting to turn back into a monster truck and run over some people.

"Well," she said, grinning, "I'm still a little tired from almost dying, so why don't we go back to your dorm and rest up while Hattie takes care of Arwen."

"Of course." he smiled, glad to go, he was getting bummed out from seeing his grave out of the corner of his eye. "How would you like to get out of here, my darling? Flying? Driving? Unicorn?"
