Alex had always walked with his father to the jetty on his trip for supplies. But that was it.

The only world Alex knows up till his eighteenth birthday was the small island they both lived in and the vast sea.

Though he lives near the sea and they owned a ship, Alex had never been allowed to come near it and least of all climb onto it.

And to add to his wounded pride, he doesn't know how to swim and is extremely afraid of fishes.

Well, his father was entirely at fault for his phobia of fishes and water animals.

At the tender age of four, while happily paddling on his small float, young Alex met one of the worst creatures in the sea when his float accident-ly floated to far toward the ocean.

Benjamin was then answering a call on his satellite phone from someone important and had ignored his only child's well-being.

Upon seeing his son floating into a dangerous area, he immediately dropped the phone and swam after his son.

The water was not really shallow but the great white shark was know to prey in that area. And that area was exactly where four-year-old Alex was at.

He saw the shadow of a great white shark nearby but nit near enough for it to strike.
