Hello everyone,
My name is Ineyri (alias) and I'm a 25 year old student in web and game development. On the musical side, I have recently resumed learning the piano (after having had to quit for a long time), and I'm going to start studying music composing this year.
I'm a classical and baroque music enthusiast (Bach, Purcell, Beethoven, Liszt, Chopin and many more...). On the contemporary side, I appreciate music with a symphonic or orchestral tone such as some Japanese music (Kokia, Akiko Shikata, FictionJunction YUUKA), some anime/movie soundtracks, some symphonic metal (Nightwish, Within Tempation) and music influenced by the 'Gothic/Victorian Lolita sub-culture' (Shinkichi Mitsumune, Mikiya Katakura, Ali Project, Malice Mizer, Kanon Wakeshima).

Music is my life. I play trombone in school( 1st chair) and I play piano on my own time. I've been selected for numerous honor bands and wind symphonys, which are really fun, so if you every get a chance, tryout for as many as you can. I come from a really competative band program at my school. And I love classical music.

hi! i'm ziqa. (14) but some people call me iqa. i'm from Malaysia. i lovee musics heart a lot.
1. when i was 12, i started to play guitar = grade 4 (now) 2. this year, i started to play the piano = grade 1 (now)
besides that, i wish i could play the violin. next, i love classical musics, pop, rock.
= = firstly, i never had in mind to play the guitar. my mom let me choose what instruments i wanna play then i thought : since i was a big fan of yui yoshioka (she plays guitar), i choose guitar. but then, i had a thought that guitar was soooo boring and i plan to stop learning guitar. but, since i was grade 4, i think i better finish up till i'm grade 5. but, while learning guitar, i also learn piano. and, i discover.. piano is more better than guitar. hey,, that's what i think.
that's all about me. 3nodding heart -ziqa-

xShokubeni Wow, I'm nothing compared to all of you. ;o Anyways, I'm Shoku [not real name], and my primary instrument is the piano. I've been taking private lessons from one of the best schools on island for about ten years, and I'm still going. I'm the [only] oboist for my high school's concert band, I'm the drum major for my high school's marching band, and I play the flute in the Hawaii All-State Marching Band, which is due to perform in Pasadena this coming Christmas. For a long while, I lost my interest in classical music [I'd say from seventh to nineth grade year?], but found my passion for it my sophomore year. Now, I play nothing but classical music in my piano class. I've learned that I don't progress much at all playing contemporary music. As of now, I have no favorite composers because I haven't studied enough to have a favorite. Nice sig =O

| . . heart Hi everyone =) I started piano when I was 6 and I'm now taking my level 10 exam (RCM) I started flute last year, and I love playing in my school's band, which was rated platinum at our music festival last week. I also Love to sing and have been part of a singing group since I was very young, but I never took lessons whee I do love music, I just find memorizing the composers and dates and pieces stressing, though it's fun. My favourite composer for piano is Chopin, he really knows how to keep a song interesting. And I just love, love, love Strauss' waltzes, especially Roses to the south. I'm aiming to master Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu before the start of the next school season, because I will have to quit my piano lessons then, because of high school. crying But hopefully I will get to learn the violin someday too, or the organ! heart . . |

Hello. I'm seventeen, and I play the trumpet. (Some guitar, too.)
I'm in the school's band, and while we don't really use the chair system, I did place second in the top band at the auditions (and, considering we're one of the top ten high school bands in the state, it's a really good band). I'm not a big fan of baroque or classical, though I will listen to it. The music that I enjoy tends to lean heavily towards modern styles. Romantic, too.
So you won't hear me talking Mozart. You'll hear me talk Persichetti. =P
I also enjoy jazz (mostly post-bebop) and prog rock, which also stems from my love of more modern sounds.

Hello. I recently received an invitation to join, so I guess I'll introduce myself.
My name is Brian. I'm 18. I've played violin, cello, and clarinet casually for about 6 years each. My primary instrument is the piano, which I have played for 16 years. I play everything from Bach to Ginastera and Kapustin. Although I'm particularly fond of the romantic works of Chopin, Liszt, and Brahms.

Hey there, everyone! =) It's great to be a part of this guild!
I've been working with a vocal coach for almost a year and a half now, and I chose to go on with the classical singing field. It's quite hard to silence me at home or whenever I find time to sing opera, really. blaugh
Other than that, I've played the piano for 5 years and the drums for 2 months only. But I know that I have lots of other instruments to discover! heart

Hello. I just finished my first year studying music at UPEI (Prince Edward Island, Canada) and my primary instrument is the Euphonium, but I played Trumpet in the high school jazz band for 3 years and now Trombone in UPEI's jazz band. (I had to learn how to play it within a month) So I love brass instruments in general. biggrin I'm also in the choir as well and I sing soprano. (which is funny cause I play low brass)
When it comes to music I will definitely listen to anything but my favorite classical composers are Eric Whitacre and Percy Grainger (even though he always gives Euphoniums high stuff to play and it kills my chops everytime). biggrin
