I wish, its getting to where people need 3 incomes for even an apartment. The average cost for rent is like 700, 200 for electric, 100 for heating/cooling, 50 water, 60 sewage, 40 trash, 50-100 gas for car not to mention food. Most people need 2 incomes to pay the bills and another income to have food.

Then again that IS for a nice 2 bedroom that's within a reasonable distance walk to a park and the beach, along with some schools in the area. This also IS California as well so sweatdrop

Well you DO live in Monterey which is a nice location, not to mention that nice Aquarium and such. Although we DO have a lot of nice stuff around the area. Such as great Cons, lots of tasty food from other countries, and more! heart

California isn't all that rich these days. Most ESPECIALLY contractors and housing people. We got hit really hard from the recession, especially since our cost of living is so high. So if interest on land by 1%, that will add up to a lot more money around here...then say a lot of places in Texas. Now if you want some place that's doing really well, you look at Texas, they didn't even need any bailout money! gonk
The way you look at California is like in many other places. The more cool stuff you live by, the more expensive it gets.
If you live in/next to a shopping distrct/mall, if you live at a aquarium or a theme park, or the beach, all that stuff costs more to live close to. So it's the same in Cali, sure we live by a lot of sweet stuff, but we also pay for that as well.

Since more of us live in Cali, then any other place, then it's only logical that we should have a meetup one of these days over here. Eventually.
