At the exact right moment, his prediction game true. The Soul Knights from the castle arrived in hundreds, followed by twenty Rank B Demons. As luck would have it, they followed Defaeco. "Attack my Knights," he screamed. As Defaeco, they didn't know which was which either, so they attacked all of the undead. Finally, the orb of energy was completed, though it wasn't time to use it. For now, he would rely on his bow. He sheathed his rapier, then stuck the staff in the hand of a statue like tombstone. The orb remained floating in the air beside him. Upon drawing his own god weapon, the Bow of Artemis, the flimsy thing became a white, crystal like bow, magic arrows forming as he drew back the string. Upon letting go, 10 arrows swarmed around Hades, each flying through undead like they were pieces of cloth.

"Agony!" was the cry the echoed from the god's throat, as the tendrils of pain assaulted the king. If it was successful, Defacio would be in immense pain. When the armies of the head of church cut through all that stood in their way, Hades was pierced by many arrows, they seemed to do nothing at first, but then the god thing staggered, and dropped to a single knee. Though after a few moments he stood again, staring at the enemy coming towards him.. A growl sounded from nowhere, everywhere, and Cerberus came.

"Oh dear, I knew I needed to save it!" Defaeco yelled happily. He slung the bow across his shoulder and grabbed the staff, getting hold of the orb of light yet again. He swung it outward, sending the orb of light flying at Cerberus. Defaeco jumped from the tombstone into the crowd of undead. He placed the staff in his back holster then grabbed the rapier. The vines of light wrapped around his arm, holstering the sword onto his wrist. He swung wildly, not knowing where the orb went. He killed more random undead, skulls flying, a spectral blood spilling, splashing onto his face. He ducked after a large knight flung a sword at him, did a ground spin kick then stabbed it in the chest. Hades was ahead, but he would leave that to Drasta. Under his feet, a large blast of light sent many undead into the air, vaporizing the dark energy inside them.

As the battle progressed it became increasingly obvious how to tall apart the spirits. The spirits belonging to the god were all hooded, and fought in the absence of emotion. Most of the clothes they wore were functional but drab. The spirits of the necromancer however were as varied as the peoples of the world, and fought with anger, glee, and fear. As the spirits died around the king, he was stashed with ectoplasmic residue, and when he used the blast of light around himself it burnt off, only to be splashed with some more.. '

The blast of light that hurled towards Cerberus hit it smack dab on the central head, and it burned away. Flayed flesh was peeled back, a single agonizing layer at a time, until all that remained was a skull, flanked by its two snapping brethren. Still it tore into the enemy, protecting the master, and still the master laughed. A lucky shade, seeing the residue upon the false king raised its hands at him, and the 'blood' suddenly twisted around the king, blueish rope preparing to kill him. It began to squeeze.

Dieter, noting the differences in staying power between the god and he, abruptly changed tactics. Instead of merely keeping his army up, he would actively attack Hades' control over his. A mental war began to rage, as spirits flickered in and out of existence even as they stil fought, the physical elements alternated between swaying, fighting, and a more permanent death; the cycle seemingly endless. It had to end quickly, even now the stirrings of nausea could e felt by the mage, the horrific images.

During the fall, Defaeco put the bow back on his shoulder then took his staff. Upon the fall, he slammed the staff down blasting a large amount of undead upward, from both sides making them disappear. All of his Soul Knights had fallen as they were already weakened by the castle falling before. The demons were advancing, taking out the outer perimeter of the undead. Ectoplasm covered the king's entire body. A malicious grin was upon his face.

The Soul Knights rose again, servants of few of the acolytes who were not taxed to the limit. A skeletal dragon swept down to the dog's final head, attempting to pull it off with its claws, sending a constant ghostly breath towards the dog. Coating all the breath touched with blood, and so a battle raged on. The head bit into one of the dragon's forelegs, shaking its head as it attempted to take it off, as the claws of the undead beast tried to kill the great beast.. Eventually though, the dragon won against its weakened opponent, only to fall apart seconds later from a lapse in concentration, the direct result of a painful prod from a god. Dieter was beginning to feel the sheer power of the death god as it pushed itself into his mind. Such pain, such crushing force.. Dieter managed to buy some space, a push against Hades what he accomplished, though this caused him to buckle over and puke, even as he chanted.

Defaeco let out a slight giggle. It was time to help. He ran through the undead, each of them faltering in and out of existence. He jumped up, hooking his staff to the holster then unsheathing his rapier. A flare of light shown from it, somewhat distracting Hades just enough for Defaeco's move against him. He flew forward, his blade outward, stabbing the rapier into the concentrated Death God's chest. It wouldn't do much to Hades, but it was a major part in the battle. It broke the concentration of Hades. It should have easily taken a great toll on his amount of undead. Defaeco let the blade stay in the god as the light of it would drain it's energy just enough for Dieter to harm Hades even more. The king ducked yet again, this time taking out his staff. He used the orb at the end of it to smash one of the undead minions skulls, and after the skull was cracked, he swung the staff around to knock it and 5 other undead's skulls off. He suddenly felt a slight tinge as a blade swept across his back. If not for the light aura, the blade likely would have been able to go further, causing immense amounts of damage.

Hades slipped, and that was all the pale male required. The spells, hastily weaved to counter the magick of the god now had an opportunity to crush the ever so delicate pathways connecting all to the master. The opposing undead crumpled, puppets without strings; the enemy spirits faded away almost completely. Only the souls closest to Hades still fought for him, the rest now banished. The god of death attempted to run to the portal, but was stopped at every turn by fresh combat, trapping him, moving him closer to the necromancer. Dieter slowly began to walk towards the god of death, funeral procession followed him, banshees, knights, servants, all that were needed for the death of a god. When he drew near the armored deity, it looked weak now, power fading, bonds snuffed, and energy even now being drained away. Dieter said, softly to the already dead god, "And so a god falls.." In response, the god yelled "I think not!" as he charged Dieter with the spear outstretched. A knight of death too the blow, crumpling into dust even as Dieter began chanting. The voice was everywhere, a pervasive whisper, seeming to wheedle into the mind. It made the stomach cringe, and the sound was enough to taint a soul. Hades could feel himself becoming but another part of the usurper before him.. Just another slave.

Defaeco slowly walked over to Hades and pulled the blade out of Hades. Either way, it was over. He pulled the blade out of the formed god, laughing lightly. A few shades were left, that were still somewhat held up even though the thing that had them alive was gone. Just for fun, Defaeco held his hand up towards them and blasted a large golden sphere of light at the ground below them, causing a ricochet, destroying the remainders. "Now, Dieter. Do we have an alliance? If so, I need a new castle, and I think I'd like it in the middle of Ethral. Also, now that the demons and undead down in the underworld are left without a king, could you please get your little Death Knight to open a nice portal to let them have some fun? A mass suicide should also be in order, just to show what we have done... and for fun..." he said to Dieter with a smile. He had holstered everything at that point and was already sucking up the darkness in the area into his staff. The leftover pieces of souls were forming to make more Soul Knights for himself, just to act as guardians as they once did.

When Hades was at last no more, and Dieter felt the energies come inside of him, he was more tired than he had ever been before in his life. He began walking towards his little place in the graveyard, the place where his bed resided. He had barely heard what the king had said, but a scribe would read it back to him soon enough; after sleep. He actually had to be carried the last hundred or so steps by a litter, held by four massive skeletons that appeared to be made of gold (or to be more accurate coated). The scribe made a note of this too, resolving to tell the necromancer of this gross waste of funds, likely unaware of the vast quantities of wealth accumulated on this day, the Vaults of Erebus. From the god of underground wealth as well as death.. Fitting really, such chill in both.

Agito arrived at the graveyard and saw deiter, and defacio fighting. "Well looks like we just got here in time, or do you need are help?" he asked.

{Naru and Lozel will be posting here to, just to let you know}

Defaeco turned his head towards the newcomer. He had never seen this one, though he didn't seem very aristocratic. "No, thank you, but we have already finished the battle. Move along now," he told them before motioning back to Deiter. It would be a while before he was completely healed, and the man mentioned "We." They obviously had not arrived yet, but it was a moment of weakness for the necromancer, so Defaeco would protect for that moment.

Naru appeared in his usual way; a shroud of shadows pooling up from the ground. "Well well, it's the former king. Now this is interesting, I havn't seen you since I've gained my powers...What exactly do we have here?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 28, 2010 2:09 pm
Defaeco yet again turned his head towards a familiar voice. "Well, sir, we have a large amount of bones, broken gravestones, blood, and the occasional ectoplasm. Now as I told your friend, move along," he said to Naru. "But before you do that, why are you here, Naru, and with your friend?"

Naru smiled at Defaeco. "Me? I'm doing what I always do, looking for more power and doing whatever it takes to obtain it, even if it means killing a former friend or two, or more, depending on how many stand in my way."
