Kanti didn’t want to leave him but she knew he was too stubborn to just go. “Hurry up Sanoskue!” she cried as she bolted toward the den, looking over shoulder for Sanoskue.

Once he figured Kanti was far enough away Sanoskue lept off the bears back and dashed after her, diving into the hole that led to their den and crawling next to her. He lay on his side, panting heavily and he glared at her, "Next time I tell you to run, please do."

Kanti glared right back, not about to be intimidated. “I did!” she snapped at him. “Eventually.” Then her gaze softened and she pressed against his side, shaking now that her adrenaline had gone. “I’m sorry,” she whimpered softly. “I was just afraid. When it knocked you down and you didn’t get up…”

Sanoskue's expression softened slighty and he licked her cheek, "It's alright...I should thank you, you probably saved my life. I'm sorry...I didn't mean to yell at you."

“It’s okay, don’t be sorry.” Kanti laid her head on Sanoskue’s side and sighed, attempting to control the trembling. “Are you okay? Did it hurt you?” she asked worriedly.

Sanoskue shook his head, "Nothing that won't heal soon." Sanoskue wrapped himself around her more, "Are you alright? Your shaking like mad."

“Yeah I’m okay. Just a little freaked out is all. Are you sure you’re okay?” Kanti gently nudged Sanoskue’s side in a few places with her nose. “Nothing broken or bloodied?”

"No, we were lucky though...very lucky." Sanoskue nuzzled Kanti's cheek gently, "Your safe now...nothing to be freaked out about."

Kanti licked Sanoskue’s cheek and rested her head on his paws. “Very lucky,” she agreed. “I’m fine, I’m just glad you’re not hurt. It could have killed you Sanoskue.” Kanti whined softly and pressed against his side.

"And it could have killed you." Sanoskue said resting his head ontop of hers, "Please, promise me that if something like that ever happens again that you'll just run, ok?"

“Will you run with me?” Kanti asked softly, voice slightly muffled as she tucked her fce against his chest.

Sanoskue tilted his head, "Of course...we'll just have to wait for the bear to go away first."

Kanti chuckled softly. “Yeah. I guess so. Hey did you manage to get anything for yourself to eat before the bear showed up?”

Sanoskue shook his head, "No, damn bear scared everything off. How about you?"

Kanti sighed as her stomach rumbled hungrily. “Well I caught a mouse. Almost had a second when the bear showed up. Ended up dropping the one I already had.” She sighed again. “I hope he’s gone tomorrow. We need to eat.”
