Ayanami Rei First Child Yeah...I hate it when they start screwing around with the story, cutting and pasting where they please! I mean look at what they did with Escaflowne and then Sailor Moon! Hell Sailor Stars is so messed up they couldn't even figure out a away to cut it off to make it "proper" enough for American audiences! Yet they keep all the perverted and violent stuff on Naruto?! WTF!! Yeah really! >_< My friend bought all of Sailor Moon, only it's all strictly in English [at least, all the seasons played on CN back in the day are] and we started a Sailor Moon marathon with the very first episode, but I think I was going to die by the time Zoisite (sp?) came in. o_O He's a male, darn it! Uh. Anyway. Yeah.

Yeah....but he wasn't exactly a manly man either. I mean it's not THAT drastic, "he" still acts the same way and is still dating the same guy. You see my point?

It's MUCH less of a crime then what they did to Haruka and Michiru, giving them lame a** American names, and calling them cousins. How the HELL Haruka is less crazy then "Amara" I don't know. I mean who the HELL even calls their kid "Amara"!?

I like to watch Dub while reading sub. I like those DVDs with two versions of the dubbing.

r-chan09 When I was watching it on Toonami of course having it in english was good, but now that I have watched various series with horble dubbs I began to like subs. So which one to you prefer to watch Tenchi Muyo? Sub or Dub I prefer Dubs but since Mona Marshall is dubbing for Ryoko now, I might have to watch it with Subs. I usually only watch anime with subtitles if they are fansubs and haven't been translated yet or if I can't find them dubbed.

Let's put it this way...
Ideally, I like hearing the dubbed-into-English versions because you can pay attention to the show and not have to read captions. Besides, sometimes the English version is funnier, anyway.
However, the Japanese version, with the subtitles, gives a much more accurate translation, and so I enjoy that just as much.
It is really a toss-up for me.

Subs, definitely. I tend to find dub voices to be not quite right to the characters in most shows. The Tenchi dub is fine (Petrea Burchard is a great Ryoko), but I still much prefer to hear it in the original Japanese. Besides, in RL I have a hearing impairment anyway, so subs are my way of ensuring I know everything that's been said.

I like to watch anime that have 2 kinds of subtitle with dubbing. I like to listen to the dub, while reading either the subtitle 1 which is a word by word of the english dub or the subtitle 2 setting that is a more tranlastion like sub of the orignal jap audio.

Depends on how good a dub is. In most cases, sadly, I find the accents very off-putting, so I tend to watch in the original Japanese. You can pick up Japanese words here and there, eventually forming phrases, which can sometimes be useful. I may be hearing-impaired in RL, but not stone-deaf, so I still can pick up things like accents - and I much prefer a Kansai dialect to a Deep South one (no offence to southerners) smile

I'm more of a dub fan, I hardly ever watch anime in subtitles. For me its just easier to understand whats going on when I'm listening to the dialogue being spoken in the language I've used my whole life.
