Dawnpaw started limping out of the medicine cat den, her leg replaced back in its socket, but having it out so long would leave her limping for awhile. She looked around for Ashpaw.

Ashpaw trotted up to Dawnpaw a freshly caught rabbit held tightly in his jaws, he dropped it at her paws, "share?" he mewed when his mouth was free

Dawnpaw nodded. "Of course." She knelt by the rabbit, and bit into it. She chewed thoughtfully as she surveyed Ashpaw. He seemed to have gotten some muscles since the nursery, which was only a moon ago. His kind, watchful eyes were still as soft and kind as ever, and she could sense his worriement at what just happened

Ashpaw also bent his head and missed Dawnpaw's gaze as he began to eat, he realized then just how hungry he was, as he finished his half he starightened, "Dawnpaw, in my hunger i forgot to ask about you leg, is it better?" he mewed

Dawnpaw started out of her trance, and nodded. "Ya, much better now. I'll be limping for a few days, but that's about it."

Ashpaw breathed a sigh of relief as he stared at his paws, "well thats good, although im sure Brackenheart will be a bit annoyed, but what can you do, things happen for a reason, right?"" he mewed a bit embarresed

Dawnpaw nodded, her heart beating. "Yes, just as how you and I know eachother. If you hadn't been there, then, I probably would have had a bigger epidemic."

his ears flickered nervously his heart flying in his chest, as he looked at the way Dawnpaws eyes sparkled in the sun, "yes well, if i hadn't wanted to go near Riverclan border, you would never had fallen" he mewed humbly

Dawnpaw shove him lightly. "Stop being so humble." she laughed. "Ashpaw, I'm so grateful for you. Immagine how my life would be if I had never met you." she nuzzled his neck.

Ashpaw had no answer, he just began to groom her dirtied fur, sharing tounges in the late afternoon sun...

Ashpaw smiled as he continued grooming Dawnpaws fur, his uneasiness was soon gone replaced by a feeling so deep he didn't know where to start.

Dawnpaw suddenly shot up, her mind remembering part of the prophecy, and something that she had decided when she was a kit. She looked scared at Ashpaw, then ran away.

Ashpaw was startled for a moment and he jumped to his paws, then hurt flooded through him clouding his senses, he let Dawnpaw go, realizing she was probably mad at him now, his ears hung low and his tail drooped, as he sat back down

Dawnpaw hurried to the gorge where she had fallen, and looked down into the empty darkness, tears pricking the back of her eyes. It says i have to choose between him and being a leader. I can't! She bent her head and cried freely, not caring if anyone saw her. Her life long dream ever since kithood was to be a leader, and then Ashpaw came into her life, and there was a battle in her heart. She lay down, and cried herself to sleep, haunted by dreams of broken hearts, and hard decisions
