Ryumi jumped slightly at Mai's voice. He tilted the picture so she could see it. "My family... though I don't know if I'll ever see them again," he said quietly; his uncle... well, he'd been surly and... rather morbid most of the time. His mother had been extremely pleasant and gentle, what little he could remember of her. while his aunt could be fairly stern, but kind. His father... stubborn was a very generous term for what the man was. He cocked his head, noticing the new pan-bowl of water and a much greater amount of steam rising from it, but he remained quiet, thinking.

Mai walked over, looking at the picture and taking in every detail. You can definitely tell it's yours... They look a lot like you. She smiles, though it disappeared when the next comment he made came up, causing the male to gain a look that showed confusion, but really, other things were going through her mind. No, don't say that. I'm more than sure that you'll be able to see them again. Maybe not all at once, but I swear by the life that you saved, you will. She looked up at him, eyes soft with a caring, as she hoped that was what it was that's showing, smile on her face.

Ryumi blinked in confusion. "By the life I saved? I don't know what that means, but... well, they're precious to me, and I will do all I can to protect them... and you," he said quietly. He shifted a little, unsure why she seemed to care so much, but the gentle smile she had made her extremely beautiful. He blushed a little, shifting as he felt his pants tighten a little. He didn't realize his right leg was cut in several places before he heard a very faint sound and a slight chill on his calf. Fortunately, most of the cuts were shallow save for one where he'd stepped on a sharp rock and had a slice that ran from the outer edge of his right foot near the arch of his foot all the way up to stop halfway up his shin; most of the injuries were bleeding very sluggishly, which was good for him.

Mai blushes a bit at what he said, the smile on her face only growing more. Th-Thank you... And I didn't mean to confuse you, guess it sounded better in my head. She looks back at the warmer water, going and claiming the towel from it and squeezing out the extra and unnecessary bit of water before going to rinse him off and see how the cuts along his back were doing. Um, in just a bit, I can take care of the cuts on your legs and such, if needed. From the few that I saw, they weren't too bad, but it's probably a good idea to take care of them, right? Plus any others that I might have failed to see.[/]b She smiles, gently rinsing off his upper body.

Ryumi chuckled at Mai's sheepish tone. "I actually have no idea how bad the ones on my legs are... damn, that feels good," he said, sighing the last few words as he felt his muscles relax even more, though it unfortunately did break the scabbing on several of the wounds which caused fresh blood to trickle down his skin. "We need to check you over thoroughly for injuries we cannot see," a soft, gentle voice said as a young woman who looked only a couple of years older than themselves stepped just inside the door. She had long, silky indigo hair and pale gray eyes that appeared blind. Ryumi noticed that her movements were extremely graceful, yet shy of admiring her unique beauty... he felt little in the way of attraction to her. Her movements were gentle, fluid, and quiet as she managed to untie his sneaker and started to remove it before a sharp inhalation escaped him as they saw that his sock was crusty with dried blood. The pain flared up his leg as he leaned forward slightly.

Mai looked up at the sound of the quiet voice to see the female across the room, who came closer to remove his shoe, which caused Mai's eyes to widen at the bit of shock there was at the sight of the injury. Oh my gosh, Yumi... She gasped, a hand covering her mouth. She didn't know what to say, it didn't look good in the slightest. She was panicking slightly, just in awe as to the sight that she suddenly came into contact with, and the rapid thoughts of what to do came flooding into her head.

Ryumi grimaced as he saw his sock before the young woman began to very carefully remove it. His breath came in slow, short pants. Unintentionally, he leaned back, closer to Mai. Hinata was surprised to see the deep cut that ran along the outside of his right foot and curled underneath. Her gaze flicked upward to the young man she'd escorted into the village. Fresh blood trickled down his leg as she got the sock off. Ryumi hissed slightly as the young woman began washing off his leg much as Mai had done for his torso. There was something familiar about this Inryō-nin kunoichi. He exhaled slowly as the wound gained a tingling sensation which dulled the pain. He glanced down at the kunoichi and noticed soft tendrils of sea green light flickering softly.

Mai continued to patch up the male's torso while the female helped him, taking glances down as she just barely saw the light from where she was. She was glad that she was able to heal him, considering she had little to no idea how. Sure, she could fight decently, but nothing close to heal as of yet.

Ryumi exhaled as he saw the wound closing steadily, if slowly. "Damn... how the hell I walked... with that, I have no idea," he said sleepily, the anesthetic side effect of Hinata's numbing technique kicking in. Hinata lightly wrapped gauze around the wound in his foot; it was most of the way healed, though she knew it would be sensitive for some time. Hopefully the patient would sleep off the pain. She shifted her weight fluidly, catching him as he swayed, sound asleep. Ryumi was breathing in slow, steady breaths, sighing softly every few minutes.

Mai's eyes widen at the sudden sight of him falling unconscious, a hand over her heart as he had done so suddenly. She sighed in relief as he seemed to be just asleep, much to her relief. She looked to Hinata and went over to help lay him down, if necessary. Thank you so much for helping him. I don't think I would have known what we would have done had we not gotten here sooner, especially with the injuries we have. She smiles to her, bowing a bit to show her kindness and her being thankful towards the female.

Hinata chuckled. "I wouldn't worry about it too much. Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka, in my opinion, are a pair of clueless kunoichi in combat for the most part... but you're unlikely to find more skilled Inryō-nin; I doubt anyone will have any problems with you resting with him. You're exhausted yourself, though you hide it well," she said wryly.

Mai chuckles a little, nodding at what she said as she stood back up straight. I wouldn't really know, I'm kind of new around here. And thank you, I guess it's sort of apparent that I'm tired out, isn't it? She laughs nervously, rubbing the back of her head as she looked at her. Oh, and I'm Mai, it's very nice to meet you. She says, smiling kindly.

Hinata smiled. "Hinata Hyūga. Take care of him, at least until you can watch each other's backs," Hinata said with amusement.

Hinata smiled slightly as she left the room. Ryumi's eyes opened a few hours later, an hour or so after sunset. He groaned slightly, unsure what the weight on his shoulder was. He blinked a couple of times at seeing lightly tanned skin and raven hair spreading over his shoulder before he realized it was Mai, sound asleep. He yawned, closing his eyes and letting himself doze lightly, though he knew any significant shift she made would wake him up again.
