League Trainer Rosie

PostPosted: Sat Jul 13, 2013 5:56 pm
Luke

The topic of Legendary was brought up, and Rosie of course had a question for this, she glanced over at Luke, leaning over a little "I want to ask them about the Mew..." She said, "Are you okay with that?" She knew he had met the mew several times, and she didn't want to go outing it in front of everyone if he wasn't okay with it.

she was surprised to hear about another Team, other than Rocket. so much so that she jerked her head back and blinked in shock. Team Galactic, she heard of them yes, but they were making a come back too? What was going on?

Having grown up in Johto, it turned out that, apparently, Henrietta was a bit of a Bruno fan (as well as a fan of just about every League member ever) and was one of those who joined in with the chair, pumping a fist in the air as she did.

She listened to the explanation and then that several legendary pokémon had seemed to be missing. That got another frown; cheating stupid Rockets! The Legendary pokémon weren't for them! The Legendary pokémon would never /want/ to be caught by, or help, people like Team Rocket.
"I bet Kyogre totally escaped and kicked their butts and just isn't back yet cuz it's still doin' it!" She couldn't help herself from exclaiming.
Team Galactic was talked about and that got her attention again; she hadn't even heard of Team Galactic but if they were a criminal team...
"We can totally take them too!"

Rocket Agent Faleen

So... Faleen was wondering if Team Galactic would make its way into this panel, though she was still a bit surprised to hear about them, she was probably a bit surprised that the League knew that they were around to begin with.
though with the habit they made of leaving their tech around, she couldn't be too surprised.
Still, it made her wonder how they know this kind of information.

Get back Kyogre soon, that was laughable.

Rosie

To be honest it was just slightly embarrassing to think that he should have simply asked the question himself, but if he knew Rosie, he was sure she didn't mind it. The answer they received wasn't particularly heartening, a plain 'just keep at it' that didn't give the impression of having much in the way of a strategy. The thought of Team Rocket snaking into other regions was a bit worrying as well, especially given Kodo's port connection with Grande Ile. As the topic moved to the legendaries, however, Luke faced the same curiosity that apparently came to Rosie: the memory of Dove's tiny Mew and the yellow, star-marked Mew that occasionally visited him. He nodded his consent. Team Galactic wasn't any kind of familiar name to him, so he couldn't avoid the tendency to disregard it in favor of the matter that was closer.

Again Inigo was more than a little uncomfortable, with the mention of so many legendaries... Kyogre was in the base somewhere, he knew, but he had no idea what others they were referring to. They couldn't mean those that Team Galactic had in the Machine, could they..? It was possible.. With a soft frown, he pulled out his dex again to tap out another short report to Claire. Briefly he wondered where all his teammates were and how they were handling being here, because he certainly didn't really care for this in the slightest. Why couldn't he have found them and sat near them?

Rosie, Luke

Nicolette listened and watched as Rosie asked Luke's question for him, paying the panel her full attention as she sat up straight and for all the world seemed the most attentive trainer ever. She didn't know what a Kyogre or a Mew were, but they sounded like they might be one of these Legendaries... Not that she knew what those were, either.

Once again a pink hand rose in the air, though it lingered as Henrietta once again cheered on the victory of Kyogre against Team Rocket. she giggled lightly, they needed more of this girl.

She once again waited for the mic, not expecting it to be passed to her again, though there seemed to be a lack of people asking on this topic, so they allowed it.

"Has the league been able to look into the appearance of growing popularity of Legendary pokemon, at least from what I've seen in Kodo at least. where is the league's stance of these pokemon being up for purchases to trainers as well as the appearance of legendary who are uniquely color, like what we normally only be seeing from designer breeding."

Rosie

Cynthia leaned toward her mic. "While it isn’t totally unheard of for trainers to capture and own Legendary pokemon, it is an incredibly rare occurrence; and while more common pokemon can be found in unique colors in the wild, Legendaries usually are not, and definitely not through selective breeding for obvious reasons. I believe that the answer to your question lies in what Bruno stated earlier - that Team Rocket is engaged in genetic experimentation and deals with the black market. The League does not condone such illegal activities."

"So in an instance where a trainer might come across a pokemon or a situation like I stated, what should we do?"
So there was a chance that this was due to team rocket genetically messing with pokemon...

Rosie

The blonde tilted her head, gray eyes focused on the girl in pink. "Just to clarify - do you mean one being sold, or one in the wild? Or both?"

With a nod, the woman took a moment to begin her reply. "I think the first and foremost thought should be that it is still a living Pokemon, regardless of its origins. In either case the best option is to report the situation the best you can - if you see one in the wild, you should say when and where exactly you found it, and note its behavior if possible. If for sale, you should give a description of who was selling it, where, and when. Don’t buy it, because you’d simply be encouraging them to continue their illegal activities."

As Cynthia finished, Glacia added, “Please also keep in mind that not everyone who sells uniquely colored Legendaries is aware of the problem. You should still report the occurrence straight away, but we ask that you not treat the person with automatic suspicion or hostility without knowing the full situation.”

"thank you." Rosie handed the mic back and sat back down,
It was nice to know that the League took it seriously, Though she got the impression that this might be a situation they were still trying to figure out how to handle themselves.

Once it was clear that no one else had questions, Cynthia offered a small gesture to Alder, and he leaned forward and pulled his microphone towards him simultaneously. “On that note, I advise you all to react to Team Galactic - if you ever come across any - the same as you would react to any Team Rocket members you might see. Remember that they are dangerous criminals who have proved on several occasions just how dangerous they are. If you meet one, I advise you to remove yourself from the situation as quickly as possible, and contact either the authorities or a League official - or both - as soon as you possibly can, and give a full description of the person and the situation if possible. Do not engage them unless you absolutely have to, and then do your absolute best to defend yourself so that you can get help or call the authorities.”

He paused and gestured to one of the various assistants, and soon after one of the large screens on the back wall lit up with various images. Some were a little blurry, others were artists’ renditions, others were witness descriptions, but all were - or described - the faces or upper bodies of people. Rockets in the audience might recognize them as grunts they passed in the halls at HQ but likely didn’t really know at all. Alder leaned back and continued, “What we’re showing you now are images of confirmed Team Rocket members, so that you can know to avoid them if you encounter them in the future. We want to uproot Team Rocket from Kodo, but more than that, we want each and every one of you to stay safe,” he said in firm tones, but then he smiled. “And with that, we’re opening up the panel to any questions any of you have about anything! Anything we talked about, anything we didn’t talk about - we’re here for you guys.”

((Meaning that’s it for the info dump tonight! The raid will progress tomorrow at 6pm EST, but between now and then, your characters can ask as many or as few questions of the panel as they like, and the panel will answer them, or your characters can talk/whisper amongst themselves if they prefer. Also note that the panel is still technically in session, so please stay in your seats!))

"Oh man! But we could totally take 'em!" Henrietta grumbled, despite having had first-hand experience with seeing what Rockets could be like, in Kanto.

Luke could hardly agree with the advice the League offered, suggesting that they should just run away at the first opportunity and tell the police. Obviously that wasn't working, if Team Rocket had grown to be such a problem - if so many of them had been injured and had pokemon stolen. What bothered him most, however, enough for him to raise his hand in request for the opportunity to speak, was the contradiction they offered.

"I appreciate the fact that League has come to Kodo," he said, "and I agree with sentiment that safety is the most important thing, but to be fair, there are a lot of trainers here that have been dealing with and fighting against Team Rocket for longer than the League's had a presence. You said earlier that Rocket was driven out of Kanto by trainers working together with the League, so it's kind of… a little strange to tell willing and capable trainers to just leave it to the authorities. A lot of us have been hurt before and are ready to risk being hurt again for the sake of defending this island."
