1. [The Shell of an Opposite Shoreline]: SUCCESS I traveled as far from the Witch as I could, and even still, I felt her pull. There, at the shore of the land most distant to her territory, I retrieved a most beautiful conch shell. May her dominion know no end.
2. [A Tuft of Cloud]: FAILURE I wished to bring her the sky, but even with my height, with all my hopes and good intent, even I could not reach that lofty goal. The tufts passed through my fingers, my gift taken away from me.
3. [Dragon Smoke]: SUCCESS The greatest gift one can offer is a piece of one's self. Caught during a moment of my ire, I would deliver the most potent heat as a gift, a token of me.
4. [Ancient Tarot Cards]: SUCCESS I had found these tucked in the back of my drawers and had been uncertain if they'd be a suitable gift. The dreams and visions they gave me - just by being in my possession - were incredible. I'd had them since I was young, and I did not know if the power came from the cards or the idea of magic around them; either way, she would know what to do with them better than I.
5. [A Key to the Library of Dreams]: SUCCESS In all my blessed, sweet sleep, I was able to open my eyes while in dreams, to control my own thoughts and movements. This, I thought, would be the greatest of gifts - something of hopes, nightmares, fear and control. I sought high and low to find the key, and when I awakened in the real world, ethereal key grasped in white-knuckled hold, a week had passed.
6. [The Brightest Star in the Sky]: FAILURE I again reached for the stars, but I was again reminded of the scope of my own reach.
7. [A Poor Unfortunate Soul]: FAILURE I sang a song about this, and was given a paper that promised a lawsuit. I decided to not seek it any further.
8. [The North Wind]: FAILURE I told the Wind of her world, beneath the water, just as cold in places as His breath. He was interested, but He would not let Himself be tamed as a gift.
9. [A Birthday Wish]: SUCCESS The most innocent, the most greedy, the most naive and the most hopeful breath any child could ever hope to take, captured, bottled. Such is the nature of things, dreams snatched away.
10. [A Bag of Holding]: SUCCESS I had to give her some way to handle all these offerings. I found an appropriate means, one small enough and light-weight for her, and stowed my gifts safely.
