The scientist seemed equal parts confused and amused by this development. "Has it? That's interesting. So it's tame, then? I wonder where it came from..." She tapped a finger against her cheek a couple times, then shrugged. "We need to take it in for testing and to run a few scans on it before we can start to study it. If you think you can lead it into the testing room without issue, then sure."

Despite her reassurance, the Yveltal remained rooted to its spot behind - and leaning against - Tambrey, still peeking around her leg occasionally and overall attempting to look like a very small death legendary - smaller than it already was, at any rate - before it gave Tam's leg a gentle headbutt and a soft, vaguely distressed chirp.

"We, um, found it on the roadside. Quite literally... And, I think I probably can. It's super tame. It's uh, like a Growlithe puppy really. Very sweet." Tambrey nodded, familiar with the procedure of pre-test, and test, and turned back to encourage the legendary to come along when she felt the bump at her leg.
She also noted the cowering and the fact that it hadn't seemed to move, and crouched to offer the scared baby a hug.

"Uh. Okay. Good bird... Come on now, they're not scary, see? Just people like me. Really. Not scary at all. Are you going to come along? I'm coming too, you just have to follow me, okay?"

It chirped again and eagerly leaned into the hug, even going so far as to try and set its head on her shoulder again. It ruffled its feathers and shifted its wings, as if it wanted to do more, but its hesitance held it back. While its countenance shifted from frightened to only mildly scared, it still cast the other Rockets dubious looks from the safety of Tambrey's arms.

"Very interesting," the scientist said again, while one of the others lifted a clipboard and began scratching upon its surface with a pen. "We've already prepared this room for it and were just wondering when you'd arrive, so if you'll follow us," she said, and so saying she and the other two turned to head back through the door they'd previously emerged from, and one held it open for them. "At least it doesn't need to follow you too far."

Tambrey kept the hug going for a good minute or so, petting at the legendary's feathers carefully and nodding toward the scientist when she spoke.
"It certainly seems to be aware of reward systems too. Mentioning, ah, f-o-o-d," she spelt the word out "earlier produced 'tricks' from it."

Tambrey started to get up to step toward the room.
"Come on then, you." She addressed the legendary again and tapped on her thigh like one might call a dog.

Tambrey's hug seemed to help somewhat; the legendary relaxed a little and chirped up at her, and when she spoke and motioned for it to follow, it chirped a second time and hopped a bit closer to her, appearing to want to stay close to her.

Ah. That was good; encouraging.

Tambrey tried to channel encouragement toward the Yvetal through her smile, moving at a pace that would let the little legendary keep up comfortably and be close by her while she made her way into the room.

Stepping into the labs without her uniform, and without one of /her/ lab coats felt rather strange, but if she needed a lab coat, there was almost always on close by 'just in case' from lab to lab. Just meant it probably wouldn't fit right.

"Nearly there. Good bird!"

When she stood and began to walk, the juvenile did the same, hopping and wobbling along after her in phases, though as they entered the room with its unfamiliar machinery, it stuck noticeably closer to her.

A variety of machinery and instruments sat in strategic places around the room, all of which Tambrey would find very familiar as standard issue pieces used for studying and testing, including the large holding tank in the center of the room, though it was a few sizes larger than the smaller ones in other parts of the labs. Clearly this one had been designed to hold larger, or more powerful, pokemon. While none of the Rockets made any mention of Tambrey's lack of a lab coat, there were indeed some stored near the door just in case, along with a variety of other standard supplies or gear one might need. "Over here please, if you can," she said as she strode over to the tank and halted beside it.

Sandals weren't exactly lab-safe wear either, but given the nature of the subject and the kind of tests to be performed it was, at least, rather unlikely that some terribly hazardous chemical would spill all over her feet.

It was also fairly unlikely they'd end up contaminating legendary DNA with human DNA and not be able to separate the two, and yet Tambrey made sure her hair was still tied back anyway a second before snagging a labcoat (not /too/ bad a fit, a bit big) and a pair of blue nitrile gloves on her way in.

That felt /much/ better.

The sight of the tank got a raised eyebrow- it was robust. Legendary stasis/holding tanks were not something come across often outside of high clearance levels of the labs. As secure as the tanks she was used to were, it was clear that this one had been designed with greater expense and higher grade material.
She resisted an impressed whistle, while contemplating which formula might have been chosen- if it were one she were familiar with- to deal with maintaining a healthy, if baby, pure-breed legendary.
The thought that she'd found someone else's clone didn't yet enter her mind; who put Rocket could clone like they did?

"Come on little one. I promise none of this, um, hurts. It's really nice too. Relaxing in there..." She nodded toward the tank as she attempted to lead the little dark type over; at least, she tried to make sure the more commonly used tanks were relaxing if a pokémon were conscious. A stressed pokémon, even if not a legendary, tended to be a bad idea for several reasons way beyond even health or safety.

The further in they went, the closer the juvenile Yveltal stayed to Tambrey, and when they stopped it leaned against her hip with a hesitant, almost questioning chirp.

A few feet away the agent pulled a ball from under her labcoat and released a Gastly. Ignoring its curious glances, the ghost-type floated down and its eyes suddenly glowed purple, and within moments the juvenile legendary collapsed into a heap on the floor from the Hypnosis. "There," she said as she returned the Gastly and clipped the ball back into place before she turned to Tambrey, "now we can begin. You're more than welcome to stay and help with testing, if you'd like."

Tambrey smiled fondly as the little dark type stuck close to her- it hadn't taken long for her to grow somewhat attached to the little death bird, despite her initial fear of it.

She crouched to pet it gently, soothingly, as the Gastly made its appearance, but was careful not to look and subject herself to its hypnosis.
"Good night little one..."

At the invitation, she straightened back up with a clear enthusiasm in a positive answer.

"Oh! You bet! Um, I mean, thank you! I definitely would, uh, like too!" To stay and help with testing with a brand new legendary to add DNA to their database? It was unthinkable for her to refuse even if the legendary hadn't been surprisingly adorable...

At Tambrey's enthusiastic response, the agent nodded and the scientists got to work, beginning with a few standard tests before progressing to more complex or delicate ones that took various lengths of time - hours, if not a day or more - to complete. Eventually, at the end of all the testing and re-testing and double-checking and deciphering results, then triple- or quadruple-checking everything, the labs could only come to one glaringly obvious conclusion that some had suspicions of at the start.

The Yveltal in the depths of their labs was, without any doubt, a clone. On the heels of this realization came scattered reports of a small handful of similar Yveltal up for sale on the black market. Someone else was cloning pokemon and selling them, encroaching on Team Rocket's profits. A valid concern for all, but at least one good thing came of it: Team Rocket had succeeded - not that the labs had much doubt - in acquiring viable Yveltal DNA.

((Yveltal is now available in the shop!))
