Ashley waited until Adder had cleared out, not trusting the kid to not pull some last-minute trick after that dirty glare. Saru didn't feel like dealing with this thing, and apparently neither did the Pokemon feeling like dealing with him. Grabbing the staff and jerking it back, bringing Saru with it, the boxing gloves Crab uppercut Saru in the chest. The Monk gasped to catch his breath doubling over in pain. "Master!" Chibi yelped taking a step back holding hands over his mouth. Saru let his new found anger fuel him. "Why you little~" The monk was back up a split second later stomping on the crabs head a good few times before it could counter-attack. Those large boxing gloves claws grabbed Saru's leg from under him and tossing him clean over the Pokemon head and into the toss grass.
"That's not how you battle a wild Pokemon Master!" Saru was back up raging like a Primape. "You think I don't know that!" The monk snapped looking like his head might combust. Chibi flinched with a soft "meep" sound. A moment of clarity and pause, thanks to Chibi, put the monk back on track to rational thought. "Oranguru lets go!" A flash of light released the heavyweight, lazy looking, white and purple ape Pokemon with its green Pipia leaf fan. "Your from this region, deal with this thing!" As the three headed down the road to the cavern, Erryn spotted something that made her stop and tilt her head. It looked like a horse or something with a really big helmet on its head. Why did it have something like that on? That was odd and didn't look very comfortable. Looking around, Erryn didn't see any trainers that it could belong to and it didn't seem to fit in with the other Pokemon that were wandering around. Maybe it was wild and just migrated from a different area. Farah and Bryant watched her curiously, both following her when she suddenly turned to head towards the creature. When she got close enough for it to notice her, she froze at the glare it shot at her. It didn't take a genius to see it didn't like people. But, she did want to help it still. Maybe it didn't like people because they put the helmet on it."Hey. You don't have to be scared."The Pokemon gave an agitated snort and Erryn backed up a bit. It was kind of like dealing with a stray dog. A stray dog that could attack you with lightning or fire or....What kind of Pokemon was this one? Erryn got out her Pokedex, but the Pokemon probably didn't know what it was because it panicked and charged at her. Erryn was lucky she had her own team there. Bryant was quick and pulled her and Farah out of the creature's way."Lu!""We're okay, Bryant....I guess I should've known better."Bryant looked at her like she was a fool for approaching a Pokemon like that and Erryn rolled her eyes. She just wanted to help it. And, now she wanted to help it more after seeing how scared it was. She hoped she saw it again.

Erryn was a little ten year old with shorter legs than the people chasing her. She really didn't expect to get far before she was caught. But, she did and it was only because the bird that dropped the egg flew overhead and blocked the cavern entrance with ice. That was probably where the ice casing on the egg came from. Once they were far enough down the path, Erryn stopped running and leaned forward to catch her breath. Poor Farah was exhausted, too. She collapsed on her belly and panted."Sorry, Farah....""Char."Bryant came up to them still holding the egg and Erryn was glad to see it looked okay. But, that was scary. Was the egg that bird's? Was that why they were after it?"Do you know what kind of egg this is, Bryant?"He shook his head before sitting down, setting the egg between his legs and leaning over it protectively. Bryant had a strong protective instinct. Erryn really liked that. It was kind of like her."...I don't think we should stay put for too long. Those people might break through that ice pretty quickly. That...orange lizard one had a flame like Farah. It's probably a Fire-type."And, probably an older version of her, too."Lu."A few minutes. They'd rest for a few minutes and then book it for Hau'oli. Hopefully they'd lose them in the city.

I'll let you back out when we get to the city.""Char~."Erryn smiled and returned Farah to her ball before looking at Bryant. The cold from the ice must have been getting through his fur because he looked uncomfortable now. She thought for a few seconds before taking off her jacket and taking the egg from Bryant. After folding the jacket, she handed it to him and then gave the egg back. The fabric should keep him safe while also not affecting the egg too much."Okay. Let's get out of here before they catch up."

The two continued toward Hau'oli, but Erryn was amused by how focused Bryant was on the egg. He was being very careful and it was a miracle he knew where he was going."You're kind of cute with an egg, Bryant. Like a protective big brother.""Lu...."Erryn laughed a bit at his embarrassment, but he also looked somehow proud, too. He really was naturally protective."There you are!"Erryn and Bryant both jumped and looked back. They'd gotten out of the cave and didn't look happy at all. They turned to run, but a Pokemon that looked like a dragon with radio ears cut them off. Great."We're trapped.""Smart kid. Hand over that egg and we won't have to hurt you."
Well, she wasn't going to do that. Who knew what they'd do to that poor baby Pokemon. Erryn stood in front of Bryant and the egg, holding her arms out."Back off!""You're starting to get on my nerves. Noivern, take care of them. Don't crush our target."Erryn and Bryant darted out of the way of the Noivern's tail before it could hit them and she fixed her hat as she glared at them. That was enough of that."I don't know what you want with that baby Pokemon, but you're not gonna get it!""Cuno!"All of them stopped and shielded themselves as the blue bird landed between Erryn and the others, another cold wind blasting through the area. She didn't know if that was intentional or not, but she kind of wished it didn't do that so often. She wasn't used to so much cold. At least Farah was in her ball."You again....You're both so annoying.""Cuno."The bird looked back at her, looking determined and she blinked."...Do you want to battle with me?"It didn't answer, but she did need one. It was pretty clear that it wanted to. Did that mean it trusted her?
"...I'm going to the city to hide. Be careful.""What?"Erryn looked behind her to see Bryant running off. The Noivern went to stop him, but...Cuno...stopped it by creating a wall of ice. Erryn smiled, but hoped Bryant and the egg would be alright. She trusted he knew what he was doing, though.This isn't what I thought I'd be doing when I left home.Erryn decided she shouldn't tell her parents about this. They were going to be so upset already."Okay, Cuno! Let's take care of these guys!"

The leader of the group - or, at least, from what she picked up on - decided to handle them himself. Probably because his Pokemon was already out."As if one interloper wasn't enough....Fine. We'll make sure your parents get whatever remains of you after Noivern's done with you."Not likely, but she wasn't going to say anything to him about that."I can tell you don't stand a chance. Erryn was a bit dumbfounded. She didn't think it'd be that bad. Sure, Cuno was able to hurt Noivern a lot, but that didn't even phase it. That wasn't really important, though. Erryn ran up to Cuno and knelt next to it. It was really hurt. She looked up when something beeped and watched the trainer pull out a phone. He did nothing but listen before putting it away and getting on Noivern."You got lucky, kid. I've got other work to do. Let's go."She didn't trust him and leaned over Cuno until they all flew off on their Pokemon."...Are you okay...?""Cu...."It wasn't. Erryn looked around in a panic. She had to get Cuno to a Pokemon Center or something fast. There was supposed to be a healer on the route, but she didn't know where they were and didn't want to risk running around on a time limit. Instead, she knelt in front of Cuno and urged it to piggyback, which it did hesitantly. It was heavy! But, she managed. Somehow.

Adder slowly progressed out of the cave, staring down at the ground with a furrowed brow. He... He didn't want that pokemon. He had absolutely no plan to catch it. Any legendary, really. They were, if anything, a liability, but this one? It didn't even have any good moves. He grimaced and flinched away as the pokemon chimed happily right by his ear, slapping a hand up at the loud noise, which didn't seem to bother it. It did bother Cling, though, and the pokemon gave him a small, annoyed zap. He flinched and jerked away, giving a watery glare at the pokemon. Damnit! That hurt! And it kept making his eyes water, too....
Rubbing the tears away, he tugged at the small snake-like pokemon, trying to wrench it off his wrist yet again, to no avail. Why were all his pokemon revolting against him!? Well... not all. One. And a half. Cosmog just.... didn't listen much. "Get... into the backpack!" he tried to insist, grabbing for the pokemon, and attempting to shove it in. He didn't know which pokeball was its, so he couldn't try returning it, and he didn't want to go through every single one. He had a lot, after all. The pokemon wiggled as he pushed it down into the bag, and chimed happily again, bouncing against the bag's flap when he tried to close it in. Grumbling, he gave up, and dropped his hand down, giving a wary stare to Cling, who stared back up at him, as if considering zapping him, just out of annoyance for the movement. "If you hate it so much, then just move!" the teen snapped back, clearly picking up on the look.

Actually, he was pretty sure the next gym was on another freaking island, which means he'd need to go back to Hau'oli, and take a boat. He sighed as he confirmed his suspicion, but pocketed the book, turning to stride his way towards the city. He was pretty sure the next challenge was water, which meant he was going to have to probably rely on Chikorita a bit here. But.... that would require training. A lot of it. He looked up, swapping Pichu in for Pengyou as well, since, well... maybe it'd do well in the next battle, or trial, too.
