Ray paid attention as much as he could, but he started to feel drowsy. At least he could remember what he was saying.

Chase leaned out of the way, surprised the test paper didn't die. This time, while behind the test paper, he threw a large rubber ball at it which exploded upon contact.

gackle floated over and looked the test over
"100% plus extra credit for the exploding ball.

and...a jar of mayonaise"
sure enough all these things fell out of the test as it landed on his desk as an ordinary paper with his score on it

More than half the class was asleep. The droning on and and continuing until... "Alright then thats about everything you need to know about the basics of blacksmithing. Remember the acronym H.A.M.M.E.R. Heft, Attitude, Materials, Mending, Erecting and Repairing. Now, Here is your first test..." The airy went all wavy and each student suddenly moved in front of their own anvils. Hammer on the Anvil as the air cleared. "Create a close-range weapon to defend yourself from this behemoth behind me. You have everything you need." The teacher disappeared. Half the class was still asleep as the behemoth began sniffing around the classroom licking its lips.

A lightbulb lit over Ray's head and he started hammering away. A gauntlet with a drill instead of fingers started to form.

A couple of the sleeping students were now eaten, several of the waking students had come up with plans of their own. One now held a feeble sword which the behemoth swept aside and swallowed the student whole.

"Finito! I present the Drill Glove V1!" Ray slipped on the Drill Glove and dashed at the behemoth. He jumped into the air, flipped a switch in the glove, and started to drill/punch his way through the behemoth. "Dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!"

The behemoth screamed in pain as the drill hit it clenched its teeth, flashed white and several large numbers appeared and disappeared over the beast. It evaporated. A fanfare could be heard and the eaten students reappeared nearby. "Good job m'boy, your the first one to ever defeat that thing on thier first try." came the teacher's voice from the back of the area.
"630 Mora found"
"102 experience gained"
"Item found: Apprentice Hammer"

The said items appeared where the behemoth disappeared. "Take em, thier yours for winning."

"I am? Woohoo!" Ray picked up the loot and put them in a back pack that he found a while back.

Chase smiled happily then eyed the jar of mayonaise with confusion.
"Um...okay, thanks..." He picked up his "prize" and looked at his new teachers.
"What's next?"

"now we will do a lesson on energy conservation"
gackle moves back to the front of the classes lecturing on about conserving magic


"and never plug in more than three apliances!"

gackle began going on about the importance of not using to much energy on a spell and the dangers of stretching oneself

"always turn off a light when you leave the room!"

and the lecture went on.....

Chase frowned at Maj's comparisons...if that was what they were called. However, maj did have a point and during Gackle's lecture, Chsae checked himself. No more than three appliances?
One......two.....Oh, good.

"All right everyone, to the rear of the buildin. We are going to go material huntin now." said the teacher in a gruff voice.

"And now I can use this to dig for materials. Definetly handy." Ray walked to the back of the building and waited.

"and now for a pop quiz"
several dozen little tests apeared in front of everyone

"lets a go go go!"
the rests came to life buzzing around

"stop them all with magic"
