The only one that actually makes sense is the S&W Model 500 (the real name for the Handcannon). You start off reloading one bullet at a time and then work your way up to a speed loader.

Speed loaders are for those that enjoy putting out more ammunition in a lesser amount of time. They also help make crazy angled camera zooms seem cooler when a character needs to reload. Afterwords the silent scene with the reload is spliced between the slow drop of the empty casings that concludes whenever the first casing hits the ground. Then the character has his gun ready and he springs out of his spot for some crazy effects high-octane shooting. Then when one last adversary is left, he has his gun shot from his hand and gets shoved to the ground, right in front of a spilled container of .50 calibur rounds, then as the last guy picks the hero off the ground "WHAM!!!" The character uses the round to stab the dude in the neck then grabs his gun and kills him with it. Man that was awesome... yay imagination!
