Erin's mother glowered intensely at her and yelled the final command," FIRE!" And with that, the vampire hunters shot a hail of gunfire.

When the bullets hit, Leora was instantly covered in the blood of a vampire. All she could see was red. But it wasn't her blood that was covering her, nor was it blood that she was looking at. It was Lance. It had been too late to stop the men from firing by the time he had gotten there. The bullets shot him and annihilated his body until there was nothing left but some pieces of fabric from his long overcoat. His blood oozed down her body when Erin's mother commanded the men to stop when Lance had been utterly destroyed.


"Would you look at that. He came to us." She sneered. "What an idiot."

Leora closed her eyes as she heard the command, preparing for the pain as she heard the guns fire only . . . she didn't feel anything and she opened her eyes, wondering what had happened and she saw red and her eyes widened as she looked up. "L-Lance?" she asked in a wavering voice, her eyes watering yet again. No . . . He could be dead. He just couldn't!

Erin's mother saw her eyes water and she grinned evilly. "Don't worry, leech. You'll be with him again very soon," She placed the barrel of her gun to Leora's forehead. "In hell, that is."

Leora closed her eyes as the tears streamed down her cheeks. "Lance . . ." she murmured sadly. She had lost her husband and she was going to lose her own life . . . and after that, the twins were going to die . . . She couldn't protect anyone.

"Don't cry, my sweet Leora," The soft sound of Lance's voice whispered into Leora's ear before some of the blood covering her head rushed to where the gun was, and suddenly, Lance's arm shot out of the pool of blood and grabbed Erin's mother's hand holding the gun, aiming it away from her. Lance's voice began getting louder and hateful so the vampire hunters could hear. "You incolent humans! How dare you shoot my family!"
Erin's mother yelled when the seemingly disembodied hand sticking out of Leora's forehead tightened it's grip on her hand. "What the hell is going on!"

Leora's eyes snapped open as she heard Lance's voice and then her eyes widened seeing his arm come out of her forehead. "Wh-what?" she asked, wondering how his arm was coming out of her head.

Lance's hand started floating away from Leora's head before twisting and breaking Erin's mother wrist, pulling the gun out of her hand and using it as his own. "You really thought you could get rid of me that easily? I'm a Volt! The last line of true vampires! The real people of the blood!" His voice roared as his pool lifted off the ground and rose into the air, condensing to form his right eye, red with one black slit in the middle of each iris in replace of the usual round pupil. The hunters were stunned and didn't know what to do as blood conitinued to rise to the disembodied body parts, condensing and regenerating the enraged vampire king.

Leora's eyes widened a bit more as Lance started to reform out of his own blood. She was actually growing a bit scared of him. And considering that she was still tied up and tied to the chair, she was really a sitting duck . . .

Lance had both hands, forearms, and his head by the time is blood started not only flowing to him to reform but also to Erin's mother. It ran up the screaming woman's body as she tried to wipe off the blood. It ran up to her throat and surrounded it. "Burn in hell, human." Lance growled, and suddenly his blood squeezed and sliced, cutting her head clean off. His gaze turned on the rest of the hunters, who were shaking with fear. They immediately dropped their guns and tried to run away but David was already standing in the doorway, guns at the ready. "Where do you think you're going?" He asked with ann evil grin before beginning to fire.

Leora struggled against her bindings. "Wait! They have the twins! Where are the twins?!" she yelled out desperate to know that her children were safe.

Lance looked back at her before the moving forward into the crowd, now his entire upper body, legs in the middle of regenerating as he picked up the two babies who had been dropped and just about to have been stepped on. He quickly returned to his wife and smiled lovingly. "Sorry I'm late." He apologized as he slashed at her bindings, freeing her and handing her her babies.

Leora held her children, sighing in relief. She looked up at Lance and smiled, shaking her head. "It's okay. You're alright and the twins are okay . . ." she decided not to dwell on her own injury. It wasn't necessary.

She might not have cared, but Lance cared more about her than anything else in the universe. "But are you okay? Did they hurt you anywhere else?" He asked, completely ignoring a hunter that tried to shoot him again, but the wound healed instantly, and the hunter was killed by a vengeful Alexis.

Leora shook her head. "I'll be fine." she said with a smile. She then stood up and kissed him, ignoring the fact that he was still regenerating. "How'd you know I was in trouble?" she asked curiously as she broke off the kiss.
