Good late-afternoon everyone!
I had my first official Cat Socialization volunteering day today ((no training, no mentoring)). It went really well. I took my camera with me so I could get pictures of some of the cats I met. I had planned on taking pictures of the two cats that I met the other two times - Mrs. Norris and Isabella. Unfortunately, Mrs. Norris was there. I'm assuming that she got adopted within the week I last saw her. Isabella was still there though, and it looked like she got over her sneezing (which I'm glad about).

I'll be volunteering again next Tuesday. Maybe I'll see if Mrs. Norris still has her folder up at the desk or if they take it out once a cat is adopted. *shrugs* We'll see what I feel like doing when the day comes.

I'm so close yet so far away from getting that last event item. I think as soon as I'm done getting the event, I'll consider it the end of my time participating. There's no way I'm going to spend more time to do 500 more attacks/heals to get the achievement. Bloody hell that goal is high!

I came across Stephen Fry's official website... and I swear I could just spend hours reading his various blogs just for the heck of it. I may not always know what he's talking about but the fact that his unique British accent manages to shine through his words is absolutely fantastic.
Also there's some things he comments about the British culture in comparison with the American culture and it makes me realize how much of a British-at-heart I am. I may have been born in America and have European heritage (that probably doesn't even count as anything once it gets beyond the 1/16th amount)... but Britain seems to have a certain hold on me. Is it a bad thing? I wouldn't exactly say that.

In one of Stephen Fry's blogs, he posted an excerpt from the book version of "Stephen Fry in America." Having seen the television series version, this was a fantastic find. He starts the excerpt off with stating that he could have been born in America, rather than London, if his father hadn't turned down an offered job. This starts him off with theorizing what his alternate self, the American version named "Steve" would've been like and how this image would contrast with the Stephen Fry we all know and love.
This whole discussion was quite fascinating to me and makes me ponder about how much of a changed person I would be if aspects of my life were different. What would my name be? Who would I be? What would my likes and interests be? Would there be any similarities between us (besides appearance) or would there be two different people?"What is your long-lost nonexistent identical twin up to?"

I at least know of one aspect of my life that potentially could have changed who I would be. My predicted birth-date was July 4, but I was born a couple weeks early on June 21. What if I was born on July 4 as planned?
I would have been a plain Cancerian rather than a Gemini/Cancer cuspian. Since I wouldn't have the chatty star influence, I probably would be even more shy/quiet/reserved than I am now.

" How I will vote... It’s none of your business. How you will vote is none of my business. This country cannot proceed along any lines that make sense or promise hope unless we can all get along no matter how we vote and unless we respect the primacy of the secret ballot. Having said which, open and free discussion of the people, parties and policies up for consideration is all part of democracy too." Stephen's words echoes my own thoughts regarding this election season. Sure, I have my values and interests I stand up for and I may occasionally share tidbits that reflect those things, but I will not go into a political frenzy of posts like I've seen others do. Mostly I don't do it because I know a lot of people ((most of them being my extended family)) would send a backlash in my direction... which is not what I want nor do I want to deal with. So, I always stay quiet in terms of political issues for the most part. It's a tad bit safer that way, especially for someone like me who isn't too fond of arguments or fighting. I've dealt enough of that fiasco in my childhood. I don't want to deal with more of it in my adulthood, thank you very much.

Anyway, I'm going to give another whirl at getting my overall event total up to get that last event item. So, I don't know if I'll be back again tonight to post here... or I'll chat with y'all tomorrow. Depends on my mood and what I feel like doing. So... until then, whenever that might be, farewell.#f51379 #a51cba

At long last I've gotten the last event item that I wanted to get. So glad to be done with that. As for the achievement, I'm not even going to bother wasting more time to 500 more attacks/heals to reach it. I have other things that I would rather be wasting my time on than playing the event.

I debating on whether to stay in my orange-and-black outfit or change into a different look using some of the items I earned from the event. Hmm... decisions, decisions.
