Ayanami Rei First Child Well seeing as how the song "get stupid" came from the hip hop community.....and the fact that hip hop makes you say such things as "Bookstores are for squares"....I think there is some merit to my claim. Well some of Nightwish's earlier stuff seems too borderline for my taste. KORN has music which is beyond dark and into demonic. I never said that demons would take you over, now did I? You are putting words into my mouth to create a gross exageration. That would be like me saying "Well you know it's pretty crazy to say that makind evolved from frogs. I mean we look NOTHING alike". Demons work best not at open manipulation.....but the subtle kind. Similar to how drugs start to take over a person's personality....slowly changing them so that they can easily ignore the signs until it's too late.... It alll depends on the individual, you seem to have a very judgemental look at things, i mean single out a whole group because of what some say -.-; I and I never said you said "demons would take you over", that was my guess on what would happen. And your example is just....welll no comment I wouldnt want to offend the leader And those demon "facts" keep them coming they are funny lol. I mean to believe some people buy that stuff lol

Some things are just too silly that they are funny, it cant be helped. If I ever have a demon ghost or whatever in my house I ll call you LOL, then you can do some little dance and say some things or chant some words and make them go away. Maybe you could come check my house out sometime and see if there is any "evil" in it so you can scare it. Though I cannot promise not to laugh LOL

Ayanami Rei First Child Mmmh. I can dig some of the dark haunting melodies, but the problem I have with some of them is that they cross the fine line between darkness and something that should not be listened to. Not to mention sometimes they're too close to the line and it can seem too controversial for my tastes >.< Although I'll have to check them out when I'm in the mood sometime. <___< Rasputina is not dark lyrics (most often), but has a dark and rich sound- iThanks to awesome cellos. It's not goth music at all, it is more off-beat+classic+folksy+etc etc. <__<;;

Vega Sohma I downloaded 4 of ones that had the most peers, can't remember the songs though, but the singer, well she did to much high to low to high to low shifts when she sang, it was well, quite annoying, but she does have a pretty voice. I just think she'd do well to gradually progress to different tones in her voice, instead of sudden off and on shifts of highs and lows.... Clearly your tastes differ from mine. XD It's cool. :3 I like her high/low shifts when she does them. Her voice is pretty great, especially live. *___*

HappyCabbit Tsuki No Tragedy ... I just got back from seeing Rasputina in concert. *___* It was so amazingly awesome!! ;___; Brilliantness.
And I've never wanted to kill myself...>_>Triple post! Ouch, I bleeeeed. Hehe. Hah, I would have taken you along if you lived near me. 3nodding My friend Kathy and I went together. She drove for 4 1/2 hours to get here. Hah. It was funny because I had worked all day long before the show, so I was really tired by the end. It was worth it though. Completely amazing.

You are making generalities, and it is not very fair. Though, I am not saying that music does not have an influence on people, but it isn't as black and white as you are calling it.

It was a response to Wash.
In terms of making a blanket statement, it's not as much as it seems. You see I spent over a YEAR in a school filled with people of hip hop. What few friends in HS I had were "thugs" or whatever it is you want to call them. I have yet to meet a person who is really into the hip hop movement that is above average. In fact many of them are below average in intelligence and are hardly doing anything to enrich their minds.
If Hip Hop is really so glorious start showing me examples of the good in which hip hop does. To me all I seem to see, ESPECIALLY through popular media as hip hop was BORN where I live, it's certainly not for intellectuals and has indeed gotten WORSE. It encourages people to be even STUPIDER. Show me....prove to me instances in which actual people groups are enriching the lives of others through it, or providing some sort of intellectualism through their music. I don't mean just one or two select songs, followed by total trash on an album either.......
