Meta_Fish Zephyrkitty Meta_Fish ChaosTorrent I'm generally not amazed of them either, but if you mix stuff like humor and action into it (MARIO&LUIGI KTHX) it's awesome. ..And FF5 had a really nice job system. Too bad half the jobs were useless anyways. Humor and action is what makes them good. I can't stand random battles and slow fighting. It's just boring. Hiroshi Yamauchi summed it up best. He "[People who play RPGs are] depressed gamers who like to sit alone in their dark rooms and play slow games." Long, frequent cutscenes can be pretty aggravating, too. I paid $30-50 for a game, not a long movie. I greatly prefer real-time battles over turn-based fighting, as well. Jeez, I like RPGs, and I'm agreeing on a lot of things. That must say something. What it says: Fish has a brilliant, undeniable opinion on everything. Even things that I love, I cannot help but degrade at his side. Make that the next subtitle.

Meta_Fish Humor and action is what makes them good. I can't stand random battles and slow fighting. It's just boring. That is why I like real time games. Monster Hunter for the win. No grinding for levels, no turn taking, few cut scenes and little dialogue. It is all about the action baby!

Actually thinking about it, the only RPGs I've ever thoroughly enjoyed are Chrono Trigger, Kingdom Hearts, and TWEWY. I've tried to get into Final Fantasy but they're all boring.
Also, the fact that I love Chrono Trigger so much and yet couldn't stand Final Fantasy confuses me, because the only major difference is the battles aren't random. The battle system's still pretty much the same...
And I <3 the story. And the characters. And the whole time travel thing.
...best game ever.
