One Piece Fanatic
I assume she's making a reference to the Salem Witch Trials that happened in the 1690s in Salem, Massachusetts, or some similar incident that happened around the same time.

Edit: Excuse me, 1690s. I don't know why I thought it was earlier than that.

Yeah... I was talking about back then... And... Um... Are their still Puritans around? I thought they'd turned into Baptist or something...

No, they just sort of died out after the controversy of the witch trials and banishment of popular leaders for not conforming. I think that some congregational and presbyterian churches can be traced back to them. *shrugs* a little unsure on that, though.

I don't know if they fully died out. The south is still pretty purist in my opinion, but I only think so because of where I live. We are pretty lax about religion. If I say "I'm Atheist" there won't be anyone trying to convert me or tell me they are right and God is good and all that stuff.

Not 'purist', Ukyo, Puritan. They were a protestant sect of Christianity that formed in England under the reign of Elizabeth I. They emigrated to thw new World and formed one of the first permanent colonies in North America.

I said that in the Cafeteria at College once, just to see the reaction. My friend's mother started to preach about the importance of god in one's life. I told her I believed in god, just not a particular one.

And Puppet... We love you... I think the others just might not have remembered to wish it to you.

Happy b-day Puppet! 4laugh

Yeah, if I said "I'm atheist" among a crowd here, a lot of those people would say "Me too" xd One side of my family's horribly religious...and their church is a little too 'happy' for my liking.

I wouldn't say I'm 'die hard' atheist. I'm a person who believes science is more truthful than the bible. I wouldn't go running around trying to convert people to atheism or something. If you believe in God, fine. Just don't drag me into it. Actually, I would say I'm more Bhuddist than Christian.

On another note: I has TimBits!!!
