Lover's Comfort

Drips of melting ice
Begin to fall like drips of glass
My heart beating for you
As it always has in the past.

I hear your words
Smooth and cool like snow
Your emotion beginning to reverse
Into what we both feel and know.

When you left me
I was cut deep
But I held inside
So you wouldn't see.

Though my heart still aches
It still beats for you
And I'll do what it takes
To make our dreams come true.

I feel your touch
As you wipe away the cold glass
And it ment so much
When your words came at last.

They did not pierce
Or stab like a knife
They cleared the tears
From my eyes.

As you hold me
In your arms true and dear
Too much is there to see
Too much I want you to hear.

Though I don't know
If I can give it a second time
Here I'll hold you
And I'll give it a try.

"Don't cry now, love,
I'm here for you now
You have always been my dove
And for you-
Only you-
I will make you a crown."

Okay here are a couple more poems I have written for my uncles' anniversary which is in December so they are still in the works.

You and Me

There has always been
You and me
Together
That's the way
I hope for it to be
There's nothing better
That I want to say
Except I love you
Everyday
For everything we've been through
It's all been worth it
Just for me to see to know
It's me and you
When I'm blue
Your smile is always true
It shows you know me well
And to not dwell
On what has been
Or what will be
Forever we carry
Each other's load
For our hearts cherish
What we do carry
And come what may
Down this long road
Past, present, and future
Even this day
I want it to be
Just you and me


Our Anniversary

On our anniversary
There is so much I want to say
Nothing much is scary
Since I have been with you today
I feel more daring
As though taking flight
Though the consequence of this feeling
Disappears
Only because you are my wings
And you carry me through
Until my landing
Safely and tenderly
In your arms
So here I am
Flying
Because our anniversary
Carries so much meaning
