Eeep I just finished this picture last night and I freaken love.

User Image
(I hope it's not too big)

Wallpaper Version: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/61915506/

Now I'm am looking for C&C on this picture, but I will not change it.

The reason for this is so I can use what you told me about this picture and put it toward future pictures.

Now somethings I don't want C&C on:
The blured background(I know it's so goddamn ugly I should be shot)
The flatness of the rose.
The leaves and the tree stump xD.
The patches of light (from the filtering of light through the trees)

Now without further ado, post away~

Oh and do you guys think I should replace the blurry background with a picture of a real forest, but still really blurry (So it doesn't distract ones eyes)

There are some issues with anatomy here-and-there, but they're not that bad and can be more attributed to style -- which is a good thing. The most problematic part I can see are the shape of the heads, most especially for the person on the right. From front to back, it's a little on the thin side which really doesn't look correct. The person on the left's head isn't as bad but it could use some work.

Your perspective usage is a bit off. The biggest problem with it is the tree stump that the person on the right is sitting on. It should be much more flat-looking to the viewers rather than angled up like it is.

For the background, sometimes it's best to stay away from blurring effects. Rather, when you make backgrounds, paint them in, but use less and less detail the further away the objects are from the foreground. If you decide to use blur for the background, you need to use less blur for everything in the middle ground between the foreground and the background. If everything in the middle ground is blurred exactly the same way as the background, then everything that's not in the foreground will look completely detached and not very good.

Aside from all that, I like the coloring style. You could use some darker values to accentuate the shadow from the tree and the highlights of the sun peeking through the leaves (though not too dark or else you'd ruin the picture), but that's just my opinion.

Ditto on the background part. My main comment was on how they look anorexic. But if that's your personal style... Anatomy's a bit off. Two places stand out (for me anyways) 1) His (guy on left) arm is looks disconnected on the upper portion next to his arm band. It may just be the way his arm bulges, but it looks really...off. 2) The guy on the right's hands, or namely, fingers. His left hand isn't too bad, though his thumb's a bit long. His right forefinger bothers me a lot. It's way too long, and being the focus of the picture, it really sticks out like a sore thumb (pardon the pun)

Overall, an interesting composition =D On an unrelated note, the guy on the right really looks like he has a chest. If it wasn't for your title, I would have taken this as a het pairing.

Ah thank you, both of you.

I do have a more anorexic style.

I realized the issues with the shape of the heads, angle of the trunk, and the arm thing (I inked a bit wrong there and didn't notice until I was done the picture).

The background I knew was horrible. My main issue with that was my Painter would not let me paint the darn trees, it would crash every few strokes so after not getting anywhere in half an hour I gave up and blocked in some colours in photoshop and blurred it, hey a cruddy background is better than no background xD

And you could get a picture with that focus with a good camera -Has gotten something like that with a picture of my friend hugging a tree, friend and tree were crisp but the rest was blurred.

And the chest well...I dunno, thats kind of my style I guess -shrugs- It looks perfectly manly compared to my females xD.

Pretty cool. 3nodding It was a little different looking to me, at first, but it looks good this way. Good job! You have your own style, which nowadays, people just want constant compliments, so they make their art look like everyone else's. We need more originality in the world! Don't let anyone get you down because they don't understand what actual art is. heart

Thank you.

I get so many negative comments on my style alone that's it's nice to get comments like yours. Thank you. I don't intend in any way to be like everyone else. I like be different, even if that means sacrificing some issues with proportions.
