Well... :S Next time you say 'creative' i'll remember that the definition of that is simple, and unimaginative. (No, i'm not saying the winner's drawing is terrible. It's very cute. But this is a beauty thread.the cute thread was somewhere else.) I guess everyones opinions are different on how they view beauty. Congrats, of course! but i feel very mislead by this contest.
overall i think everyone did a very nice job though. I was contemplating leaving mine in black and white but my scanner lost a lot of the shading i did so i was pretty depressed and just decided to color it. oh well.
And no i'm not trying to be rude or start anything, i'm just expressing my opinion.
(And before anyone jumps on me... the unimaginative comment is in reference to my own art. i thought it was extremely creative and imaginative... thus.. my comment... )

I'm pretty sure it was on the first page of the thread.
That's because as an anthro, it's not actually a Pokemon; it's a humanoid drawn to resemble a Pokemon.
I chose that Espeon because it was beautiful. I didn't see it as drawn to be cute. It was too elegant for cute. Cute would be the Espeon above it drawn with presents around it, and I think it was wearing a party hat.
That didn't fit the category at all, except for being the right Pokemon.
Also, the winning Espeon drawing as a whole wasn't simple. It had lots of detail in the move Espeon used.
The contest was for the overall feel of the drawing, not the quality of the work, though better quality almost always lends to a better feel. Also, I'd said the drawing could either be colored or shaded. There was quite a lot of complexity to the drawing that you're obviously not paying attention to.

I think you made a good choice with the Espeon. Loads of them were really good, but that one stood out for me.
It was a beautiful drawing :3

I misunderstood that's all. I'm the first to admit i'm wrong when i'm wrong, but i am NOT the type of person who doesn't read rules. Just because it was mentioned in the thread doesn't mean i'd read it. I didn't see it in the rules, i read it up and down word for word. It's ok. I didn't have any questions so i had no need to post in the thread. I assumed if you didn't want anthro is would be in the rules D: It's totally cool, i'm not trying to start stuff  ; like i said i just felt a little mislead. These things happen. There are other contests in which i will participate and hopefully win. Art is art... everyone interprets it differently ^^
