My question is why parents would name their kid something religious when they may go atheist or agnostic later. Oh well, it makes good irony.

Unfortunately, my name is popular. There are two other people in my chorus class who share it, and one of them is in my other classes. People give me her paperwork all the time.

My real name has no religious meaning.

However, the name I choose to go by either shortly before or shortly after becoming an atheist is where my irony comes in:

Ashura.



It means "Against God". rofl It wasn't at all intentional, and I only found that out in the past year or so. I find it hilarious.

Hah, my name means "She who must be loved." Latin in origin.
