Actually he has one character, Bankotsu, who is Akatsuki. His other, Miroku or something of that sort, is Jounin. So yes, he is a perfect candidate. :3

Personally I nominate Child of Hatred. He has a long standing with this guild, and while it's not all been perfect, I find him to be one of the best choices as of now.

Miroku was in the akatsuki, first off all he was a puppet, who has his memory, all the while in the akatsuki but Bankotsu had all his physical, abilitys.
