Moon and stars give night darkness light
Clouds cast shadows when the day is bright

A storm in either night or day can make all rays dark
but lightning illuminates both with a bark.

Man can close his eyes at night
and forget that ever day took flight
Man can make shadow dire
and hope that night doth never tire.

between them I choose neither night or day,
for dusk and dawn are where I stay;
it is only then when I can see
that both light and dark are friends to me.

[This is a quick little something I just did now. ^_^]

"Curious, very very curious indeed."
Impressive word choice, Nova-san. I liked it. The meter was a bit off in places, but the overall effect was good. I liked this part especially:

Man can close his eyes at night
and forget that ever day took flight
Man can make shadow dire
and hope that night doth never tire.

Cool! >w<
For some reason this reminds me of old english. The topic of night and day is a good one too.

I loved the idea behind it. >< The meter and flow were a bit off though. And what's with the bark thing?

Thank you ^_^

The "bark" bit is meant to represent the blast that comes along with lighting (thunder.)

The flow is offset there because I wanted each pair of lines to deal with light and dark respectively.

Thanks ^_^

The point of this poem was to outline the fact that darkness and light can be found within eachother and are usually inseperable. In the end I chose dawn and dusk because that is where both night and day meet, as if to openly acknowledge this fact.

I don't know if I did this intentionally or not (though it seems like something I would have done) but the first line in each stanza follows a pattern with light comming first, then dark, then night, then day.
