Of course they're on the same flag ...

The Irish flag symbolises the unity between protestants and Catholic's in Ireland ...

It's the same way that the british flag has elements of the countries that form it. (The Scottish blue background for example).

Not only people in Ireland know that flag. Most people in England, Wales or Scotland know it because they're all in the UK.

You know, that seems to be the only requirement that the European doods back then made for flags.

"Look, your flag has to have three stripes on it. Nothing else! one of them has to be either blue or white! We give you the choice of color for the other two stripes."
